Wednesday, March 07, 2007. FO#3 - Drop-cloth Slipcover. Wash each drop cloth separately and iron flat (this will take forever). From there I followed the instructions as given in the book Simply Slipcovers. Which I checked out from the library. The slipcover consists of 5 pieces: 4 removable cushion covers (with zippers) and a large fitted base piece. I have been very happy with it! Labels: drop-cloth slipcover dropcloth. http://thefinishedobject.blogspot.com/2007/07/fo7-garden-macaroni-and-cheese.html

Sunday, July 15, 2007. FO#7 - Garden Macaroni and Cheese. This was tonight's dinner. I can't even describe to you how yummy this is. The recipe can was originally posted on the blog Slowly She Turned. But she has moved to a new host, and I can't find it in her archives anymore. Luckily, she cross-posted it at Slow Food Piedmont Triangle. The recipe is as simple as it is delicious. 3-4 c cooked macaroni. 1 c extra-sharp cheddar cheese. 1/2 c grated Parmesan. Black pepper to taste. 1/4 c green pepper.

http://thefinishedobject.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 23, 2007. FO#2 - vintage wire shelf over the stove. I found this vintage wire shelf for $1.50 at a local thrift store. It's sort of a mustard yellow color. I hung it using these great drywall screws that don't require separate anchors. They are called Wall-Dog. Screws and I got them from Home Depot. It's a nice place to hold my cooking oils and a couple of vintage (and one not-so-vintage) potholders. Don't you think? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). FO#2 - vintage wire shelf over the stove.

bean the pit: February 2009

http://beanthepit.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Punish the deed, not the breed. Wednesday, February 11, 2009. There is another doggie out there on the streets of Durham tonight, trying to find his home. Here is a photo and some more info. Please keep an eye out! My dog took off last night! He's so incredibly nosy that he probably didn't realize he was out of the yard until it was too late. Please if you belong to any of the neighborhood list serves let folks know. He answers to spliff, puppy, daddy and old man (when he feels like it). The crappy thing...

bean the pit: bean surveys her kingdom

http://beanthepit.blogspot.com/2010/01/bean-surveys-her-kingdom.html

Punish the deed, not the breed. Saturday, January 09, 2010. Bean surveys her kingdom. We are so excited to have him home. I have some new photos of Bean relaxing with her dad, but first a few more from when he was away. We had a nice, warm-ish sunny day here soon after he left, and I decided to rake up some of the billion or so leaves around our house. I started at the curb, so that our neighbors can see we are at least trying. To deal with our yard. Yes. We are that. I has a happy.".

Punish the deed, not the breed. Monday, December 28, 2009. Bean enjoys christmas cookies. Bryan is out of the country right now, working for justice. Bean and I are both super-proud of him and miss him so much. With him gone, it's just me and the Bean at home, and she keeps bugging me to (finally! Update her blog, so here we go. I took a video of Bean devouring these (a process which was way too blurry to photograph - her jaws are moving so fast that even parts of the video are blurry!

bean the pit: So much Snow!

http://beanthepit.blogspot.com/2010/01/so-much-snow.html

Punish the deed, not the breed. Sunday, January 31, 2010. In case you haven't heard, the Southeast has been blanketed with snow this weekend. Bryan is away in NYC, and so it is just the Bean and me. We are snowed in! At first, Bean was not sure how she felt about the snow. She stood on the back porch and whined, wanting me to come get rid of it somehow. Someone stole our yard! Who ever heard of snow and bamboo together? It's like a snowy jungle out here! Such a good hunter. TJ the DJ said. Bean's Mom @ T...

bean the pit: August 2010

http://beanthepit.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Punish the deed, not the breed. Sunday, August 29, 2010. First day of school! Well, not really. Or at least not for Bean. But I did find a way to walk Bean without her dragging me from tree to tree all the way down the street. I went to a very nice pet shop in the area called Phydeax. Pronounced "Fido"), where a very nice lady helped me find a solution. It's called a Sporn Halter. And it works like a charm. There are two other perks:. Can I you walk me to the bus stop now mom? http://beanthepit.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Punish the deed, not the breed. Saturday, June 27, 2009. I took my Surgery exam yesterday, so I am now a 4th year medical student! I have July off to celebrate. Bryan always has July off because he's a teacher. And Bean.well, Bean has every month off. That means we will all be spending some quality "family time" together, and I'll be sure to have my camera with me! This morning I had to get up early (on my first day off! If I can't sleep, no one will". I bet she wants to see Daddy off at the airport!

Punish the deed, not the breed. Sunday, December 07, 2008. Sosorry about not posting in so long. I am in my third consecutive month of inpatient clerkships. If you are lucky enough not to know what that means, consider yourself blessed. Basically I have been crazy busy. Would she knock Bryan's 90-something-year-old grandpa over? Would she bark constantly? I am happy to report that Bean was a perfect little angel the whole trip, starting with the drive up (although she is always good in the car). She espe...
