Tuesday, December 8, 2009. It was the middle of the night, and I heard something. It wasn't familiar, a type of crackling sound. I wanted to ignore it, but how could I when a flame snaked into my room. I jumped out my open window, found my parents outside, screaming. I could really feel the heat and I could see a cloud of smoke. It got to me and I started choking on it. My parents beckoned to me, but I couldn't get past the flames. They were roaring up high, between my parents and me. As poor as an orphan.
