The Fluff Pot

Felting, spinning, dying and weaving - an education in fibre. Saturday, 21 June 2014. A Spin and A Splash! Here is my latest spinning. It’s a merino and silk blend batt from Wingham Wool. Each year they come down to. And bring with them a huge lorry of fibre, hire a community hall and set up shop. I walk around dribbling at all the lush fibre! I’m sure they stop at a lot of other venues on their return journey - always worth checking out their website. And it looks like this…. Links to this post. This is...

The Fluff Pot: April 2012

http://thefluffpot.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Felting, spinning, dying and weaving - an education in fibre. Saturday, 28 April 2012. I have finished one of the felt flowers I have been working on. I did a little experimenting with wire and crocheted a layer of petals to lie on top of the felt petals. This was easier than I remembered. I don't know why but it just clicked this time and was made in a flash! Last time I got into a real mess with knots, messy loops and tangled hooks! This crochet wire is still in the experimental stage! With each pair I...

The Fluff Pot: September 2012

http://thefluffpot.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Felting, spinning, dying and weaving - an education in fibre. Friday, 14 September 2012. Shortly after getting my wheel it became apparent to me that no amount of practise was going to move me forward with my spinning. I needed someone to teach me the basics: how to prepare the fibre, how to feed the fibre in and get my hands to move as quickly as my feet! I had such a brilliant day and learnt so much. Audrey of Hawthorn Fibres. Nervous before going, convinced I would be hopeless and need extra help!

The Fluff Pot: November 2012

http://thefluffpot.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Felting, spinning, dying and weaving - an education in fibre. Monday, 26 November 2012. I just can't help myself. (I just popped over there to grab the Pinterest button to link this post and lost myself for another 10 minutes! There are so many inspiring images on there and lots of links to free patterns. Here is a round-up of some of my favourites. Crocodile stitch booties - from BonitaPatterns, Etsy. Apparently there is a similar pattern on Ravelry for free. How gorgeous are these? I just LOVE it!

Felting, spinning, dying and weaving - an education in fibre. Wednesday, 23 January 2013. It is coming. there are clues if you look hard enough for them. Everywhere you look, nature is slowly getting ready. Good things come to those who wait. Emma - thanks for waiting! Next post, I promise ;). 23 January 2013 at 21:41. I love discovering those little signs and clues of spring around the corner. Beautiful photos, Becky - I think Cornish spring may be a little closer than Yorkshire spring! Simple template&...

Pretty Petal Handmade: July 2011

http://prettypetalhandmade.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

My To Do List. Wednesday, 27 July 2011. For those of you who read my blog, you may remember me mentioning that I was asked to make a "knight-themed" name banner for a little boy who was really into knights! I had so much fun and this is the end result. I've also been given another challenge of making a tractor name banner for a little boys new room in his new house so spent a couple of hours drawing and cutting tractors the other night! Hoping that one turns out well too! Thursday, 21 July 2011. 1 I've r...

March 4, 2015. I recently read the old classic “Daddy Long Legs,” by Jean Webster, and was inspired by the following passage from her book What a mantra, for my life, and for this blog. Wise words, written long ago. It isn’t the great big pleasures that count the most; it’s making a great deal out of the little ones-I’ve discovered the true secret of happinessand that is to live in the now. I’m enjoying it while I’m enjoying it. Proudly powered by WordPress.
