The Folks Aren't Home

The Folks Aren't Home. The blog that let's you know where they are. Friday, August 19, 2011. About an hour from our home is a quiet little place with a most spectacular view. It is called Ice Cave Peak on Mosby Mountain. The peak most immediately overlooks Whiterocks Canyon. Our perch sits at 10,000 feet, the creek below, at 7200; which makes for a pretty breathtaking precipice. The views into the canyon are wonderful! Links to this post. Monday, August 02, 2010. The Folks Aren't Home: The Sprague Library in Sugar House, Utah

http://thefolksarenthome.blogspot.com/2010/08/sprague-library-in-sugar-house-utah.html

The Folks Aren't Home. The blog that let's you know where they are. Monday, August 02, 2010. The Sprague Library in Sugar House, Utah. On our way home from a family reunion Booklogged and I came across this wonderful library in Sugar House, Utah. The Sprague Library was built in the 1930's and is still serving the reading public in Sugar House. We loved it's fine architecture and it's great slate roof. Inside it was full of the charm of a different era. A more recent add. August 4, 2010 at 10:35 AM.

The Folks Aren't Home. The blog that let's you know where they are. Friday, October 24, 2008. Oct 24, 2008 - Mt Hood Scenic Drive. Can you believe this picture? I was so worried that we would be driving through a snow storm on the day we drove around Mt. Hood. Au contraire, the weather was perfect. We stopped in the small community of Sandy, Oregon to take pictures of this glorious scene. Can you even imagine living. Labels: 2008. Oct 2008. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Folks Aren't Home. The blog that let's you know where they are. Sunday, October 26, 2008. Oct 25, 2008 - Last Two Days. We stopped in Twin Falls to see the new temple there. It's beautiful. Then we drove to Fielding to see Mom's brother Donald and his wife Eleanor and Aunt Betty Jean. They prepared a delicious meal and we had a wonderful visit. We didn't take any pictures, though. I am so mad at myself. We stopped in Layton to see Alyson and Katie who are roommates right now. Aly is. The road of life...

The Folks Aren't Home. The blog that let's you know where they are. Friday, November 06, 2009. Bryce and Zion National Parks. We were initially headed for Cedar City, and on to Vegas tomorrow, but decided to go to Vegas today. We traveled by way of Bryce and Zion National Parks. What a drive! Highway 12 is something to write home about all by itself! Friends of ours left Vernal and moved home to Boulder. We could see why. So quiet. So pastoral. So peaceful. So home. Enjoy the slide show! The Folks Aren't Home: November Get Away!

http://thefolksarenthome.blogspot.com/2009/11/november-get-away.html

The Folks Aren't Home. The blog that let's you know where they are. Tuesday, November 03, 2009. Any way, as I was saying, we got in the car and some kind of spell overcame us and before we'd driven the few blocks to the restaurant it was decided. It was just too good a day to be sitting at home. Has been neglected lately and was in sore need of a new log book. I knew I wouldn't be any closer than I was today for a while so I stopped by and took care of my most popular Cache. I think this was the first ti...

A Reader's Journal: Two Across

http://readfromatoz.blogspot.com/2015/08/two-across.html

Tuesday, August 04, 2015. This book read like a movie playing in my mind. It's going to make a great chic flick with all the near misses of the main characters realizing their feelings for each other. I like a story that isn't a retold variation of an oft repeated theme. Example in point - all the vampire novels floating around. This is a love story (and I realize those have been around forever) but the setting is new and interesting. I really liked this story although it made me sad at times. If you...

In Season: I Love Seasons

http://bookschatterblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/i-love-seasons.html

Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Okay, I don't love all the seasons equally. I don't care for the cold of winter but I will put up with it so I can have Spring, Summer, and Fall. The change of seasons provides setting aside some things and reacquainting myself with the sights, sounds, tastes, and feelings of bygone seasons. Which one(s) are your favorites? One that I am still missing from a couple of years ago is Good Guys. Loved that show. Perhaps, but it's such a great summertime food.

A Reader's Journal: The Lemoncholy Life of Annie Aster

http://readfromatoz.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-lemoncholy-life-of-annie-aster.html

Friday, July 31, 2015. The Lemoncholy Life of Annie Aster. I adored this book. Absolutely loved it. It was magical and fun and I found myself wanting to do nothing else but immerse myself in its story. It made me happy. Has anyone else read this book? What are your thoughts? Never heard of the book before but it certainly sounds intriguing. August 01, 2015 6:56 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Monday, April 22, 2013. Despite the illusion Sapphire Dubois presents to the rest of the world, she is not just your stereotypical 22-year old Beverly Hills heiress; she hunts serial killers. While her fellow heirs spend their nights with trending celebs and drugs at the hottest club, Sapphire secretly spends hers luring, capturing, and anonymously handing over So-Cal’s most wanted killers to the police — just your average Tuesday night. A Reader's Journal: Red Skies

http://readfromatoz.blogspot.com/2015/07/red-skies.html

Sunday, July 19, 2015. I have been having the best luck with my latest selections of books. This one was no exception. Red Skies. Is book four in Tales of the Scavenger's Daughters series but it read like a stand alone. I have not read the first three books and don't feel like that detracted at all from the wholeness this book offered. Throw into this mix an American who is trying to check of items on a bucket list. The obvious is that these three people will some how be brought together as the story...

Tuesday, July 01, 2014. I'm a BIG fan of Dean Koontz. There are a few of his books that I haven't cared for but, overall, I like his work. Falls into the category of those I like. I wasn't sure during the first half of the book if he was going to win me over. Not really sure why I didn't care for it in the beginning buy by the end I was fully satisfied. Here's a write-up from the cover:. A young boy, a musical prodigy, discovering life’s wonders—and mortal dangers. These are the people of. From NetGalley...

A Reader's Journal: The Complete Francis of Assisi

http://readfromatoz.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-complete-francis-of-assisi.html

Tuesday, August 04, 2015. The Complete Francis of Assisi. I've read quotes by Francis of Assissi and heard bits and pieces about his life and philosophy but didn't really know that much about him. I knew he was a "friend " to the animals but didn't know he despised education. I downloaded this collection onto my phone so that if I'm waiting somewhere I can reread some of Francis's writings to his followers. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
