Way Up North: Portents
http://www.mooseintheyard.com/2015/08/portents.html
I noticed over the weekend that the summer's snow geese are starting to flock, and fly around. They're not heading south, yet. After all, it's only August, right? But today there's this:. Some parts of northern Alaska are expected to get snow this week [ snip. Starting Monday, rain is expected to turn into snowfall above 3,000 feet in the northeastern Brooks Range in northern Alaska, the National Weather Service said in a special weather statement. Way Up North: H&R Arms: "The American" Double Action Revolver
http://www.mooseintheyard.com/2010/10/h-arms-american-double-action-revolver.html
H&R Arms: "The American" Double Action Revolver. My friend Dana let me take a look at his mother's pistol, which she received from her dad, IIRC. It's an H&R Arms "The American" double-action six-shot revolver with a 4.5-inch barrel, chambered for the .32 S&W center-fire round (loaded to black powder pressures, I understand). I couldn't get a picture of the bore, given the circumstances, but the rifling appeared to be a very slow twist - perhaps one turn in 12 inches. Fired, if Dana hadn't said he had.
