Larry Bell began his series of whimsical bronze stick figures in the early 1990's. Using a computer to sketch the figures in 2-D, Bell calls the resulting sculptures three-dimensional calligraphy with narrative. Seemingly simple, it is astounding that a thin, drawn line can become an animated figure that seems to be moving through space.
