My Corner of the Sky: March 2010
http://mmikami.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 29, 2010. Legally Blonde and Illegally Praked. So we went and saw Legally Blonde. In Salt Lake on Wednesday Night. Picture to prove it (kind of.). The show was quite entertaining (as it was the last time I saw it). Ian told some of his engineering buddies about it and they called it bubble gum for the mind. good, but pretty pointless. It's true. But Legally Blonde. And we hope it's because someone sent their four-year old out to paint the sign. Anyway, here is our "before" picture:. Good ti...

My Corner of the Sky: May 2010
http://mmikami.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 31, 2010. So for international food night on the 19th we pulled out Madagascar and both looked at each other like. wha? But it turned out amazingly well! On a side note, we didn't do an international food night this last week because we had so many leftovers. but we will do a new one on Wednesday! So the menu was really awesome, and was as follows:. Traditionally Malagasy meals are served on a mat on the floor. We didn't have a mat, but Ian insisted we eat on the floor . Does it look gross?

My Corner of the Sky: January 2010
http://mmikami.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 13, 2010. And I Never Catch Up. So another update blog. I'm really horrible at posting. Let's see. We'll go way, way back to Thanksgiving. So the Asian family gathered down in Las Vegas for a weekend of craziness. We had two baptisms and a baby blessing in the cousins, so that was pretty exciting. So that was pretty much Thanksgiving. It was a good time. The Saturday after we got back was the BYU - Utah football game. And, of course, I was there! How can you doubt my integrity? We all ...

My Corner of the Sky: June 2010
http://mmikami.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 24, 2010. What Happens in Vegas. Again. Friday night we went out to eat with some of the Oxborrow family friends. We went to Memphis BBQ and it was splendid. I had a blackberry lemonade with my delectable dinner and it was delish! We had some good conversation. Ian and I sat in the very back of the SUV. and it was funny. Ian is so tall he can't even sit in the back, he had to have his head sideways the entire time. poor man. The rest of the night was spent chatting! It was a lot of fun.

My Corner of the Sky: Mauritania!
http://mmikami.blogspot.com/2010/07/mauritania.html
Thursday, July 22, 2010. Not to be confused with the island Mauritia. Mauritania is a country in the west of Africa (doing this international food night has made me realize that I really have no idea about African geography! At any rate. Originally we were going to make pepper steak with coconut. but we couldn't find any coconut, so we combined this recipe with a recipe for lamb couscous and came up with Pepper Steak Couscous! 1-2 lbs beef, cubed into bite-size. 3 small potatoes, chopped. 2 t black pepper.

My Corner of the Sky: Last Week's Adventures
http://mmikami.blogspot.com/2010/07/last-weeks-adventures.html
Thursday, July 1, 2010. So last week was pretty crazy. We got back from Vegas, took a trip up to Ogden to celebrate Father's Day (and to see Ashlee in Footloose). Then we spent two days at home and drove up to Ogden again for my cousin's wedding. Kimi thought it looked like the tree was giving us the bird. and it does. So the wedding was at the Bountiful temple. It was beautiful! My cousin Nate has a relatively new baby and the kid is a tank! It's awesome. At any rate. here are a few pics. The Art of War.

My Corner of the Sky: February 2010
http://mmikami.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 15, 2010. So this weekend was incredibly fantastic! Check it out. It's tons of fun. Especially when you find the same book in the UFO and Aliens sections as the Religion section! Then we watched "The Sandlot," one of the best movies of all time. It's brilliant! Then we went and saw "The Princess and the Frog." If you haven't seen this movie, you should! It is definitely the best Disney movie in a LONG time. We were laughing the whole time. I should have taken pictures. oh well! He also g...

My Corner of the Sky: Independence Day!
http://mmikami.blogspot.com/2010/07/independence-day.html
Tuesday, July 6, 2010. I must admit, the 4th of July is a pretty fantastic holiday. always great BBQ food, fireworks, summer weather. it's just plain ol' awesome! We had a really busy weekend! Ian and I both had family in town and so it was a little crazy, but it was a lot of fun! On Friday we finally were able to see Graham and Heather's townhouse finished! It feels really spacious (I think because it has really high ceilings). I like it a lot. Saturday we all got breakfast at a really neat little baker...

http://mmikami.blogspot.com/2010/07/slovakian-kinda-italian.html
Friday, July 16, 2010. Slovakian. kinda Italian. So we had Solvakian food on Wednesday. It was really good, but my technique needs a bit of improvement :) I made Bryndzove Halusky (potato dumplings with cheese). Yum! Here's the recipe for ya! We were going to make apple dessert pancakes, but this more than filled us up! 4 potatoes, peeled. Flour (approx 8 T). 1 pkg cream cheese. 1 pkg feta cheese. Finely shred the potatoes. Add 1 t. salt. Boil water with 2 t. salt. Serve with cheese sauce and bacon on top.
