Adventures of trial and error in the suburban garden! Sunday, June 24, 2012. Also harvesting lots of basil right now and drying some leaves for future use, and using the rest on tomatoes and mozzarella and chiabata (sp? I’ll post pictures as the harvest comes in. In the meantime, I found a Black Swallowtail caterpillar munching on my parsley…we’re waiting to see if he’ll do his thing and turn into a butterfly. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? I can’t recall if I posted yet about the herbs I’ve been growing in the garden, but here’s a quick update. The oregano plant has gone to town and I just harvested a good several handfuls of it, which I will dry and put into glass jars for use in future cooking endeavors. Saturday, May 5, 2012. Adventures of trial and error in the suburban garden! Saturday, August 4, 2012. America’s (unhealthy) perfect lawn obsession. Apparently, if you can’t get the real thing…just spray paint and fake it. That’s what some people are doing in areas where drought has taken its toll on lawns. Warning: I’m about to get up on my soapbox here and get preachy.* *. The Garden Dude | Adventures in the suburban garden

Adventures in the suburban garden. The summer garden’s winners and losers. August 15, 2015. So, with the summer crop drawing to a close, this seems to be a good time to rate and review the varieties I planted this year. Superb flavor, good size fruits on healthy, vigorous vines; unfortunately, some of the fruits succumbed to rot and fungi during a spell of high humidity. The flavor and productivity lived up to the hype! The best zucchini variety I’ve tried thus far! My new favorite cuke! May 24, 2015.
