Tuesday, May 30. Today I received a card. It was simple. In it's simplicity, it shouted its message. The card was from my Mother who was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent surgery in early March and faces her second chemo treatment tomorrow. I will not divulge its personal message but here is what it contained. The cover said, "The journey is an ever-winding road. I will walk it proud, tall and strong." Soraya. We who have been invited by my Mother to journey with her:. Her husband, my Dad. Dear Re...

Russia is called “Holy,” not because she pretends to be holy, but because her ideal is holiness not greatness but holiness. Fall overview →. 4 November, 2009. It seems that life with a 5-7 month old is more demanding than with a 0-4 month old… So I have at long last pictures from our summer trip to the US, where we visited my parents, brother and family (plus his inlaws), friends, grandparents, and extended family. You can see the pictures by clicking here. This entry was posted in Children.

The dress did not need hemming since the length was perfect to start with. It is quite comfortable and I think will serve me well for an assortment of casual events. 1) This is my blog.

Thoughts that are not so elegant and are definitly lost! Adventures of the Parish Council President: Part 1. For the sake of anonymity, I won’t reveal the parish name or location. What I will do is recount my experiences, frustrations and joys in the hope that as I reflect on each meeting, I will see areas of progress. Turning a large ship that is frozen in place is difficult. First, the ice needs to be melted by warming the air around it. Patience. Sigh. More on the meeting tomorrow (or the day after).

In permanent Beta) A convert to the Orthodox Christian faith discusses life, geekdom, and zaniness. September 14, 2009. This past Saturday, I had some time to kill before picking up my cat from the vet. So I opted to wander around the mall instead of a library since a) couldn’t check out books from that library anyway and b) I have enough books to read right now. Orthodox musings on UnOrthodox subjects. Friday, November 30, 2007. Our Four (More or Less) Hours of Fame. Meanwhile, I sure hope I can get my sheets taken care of tomorrow. Sigh. First, thank...
