The General Theory: Government Spending as a necessary contradiction

http://thegeneraltheory.blogspot.com/2006/08/government-spending-as-necessary.html

Thoughts that wonder my head. Thursday, August 31, 2006. Government Spending as a necessary contradiction. Why was the private sector degenerating? Pulling out of Iraq? Likely, but it looks at if we will see a slight decline in deficit spending over the next couple of years, what must be remembered is this of course will come at the expense of social welfare. Maybe not at the moment, but the time would seem ever ripening. Posted by The General Theory @ 4:26 PM. View my complete profile.

The General Theory: mutually dependent destructive contradictions

http://thegeneraltheory.blogspot.com/2006/08/mutually-dependent-destructive.html

Thoughts that wonder my head. Thursday, August 31, 2006. Mutually dependent destructive contradictions. Fundamentally, the Chinese economy is more dependent on exports than the United States is on consumption. This is indicative of two major interrelated contradictions: that simply selling goods and services without taking in any is unsustainable in that the domestic economy will be drained; and, the social welfare of the population will be the expense of such policy. Does this not seem contradictory?

It's Raining in Scotland. I have been in Edinburgh for the last two days, and everything is soaked. In preperation for my journey into the Scotish highlands, I put some much-needed new front brake pads on the ZX-12R today. The old pads hadn't felt quite the same since the Nurburgring. Spending far too much money toady, I also bought new boots. After seven years my old Alpinstars had had enough, as later pictures will demonstrate. Posted by 5pairs at 15:31. Posted by 5pairs at 06:39. Hopefully my last post made it to this blog. I tried to check it from an Internet cafe in Beijing, but my blog was blocked. I didnt think my writing was good enough to merit any attention whatsoever, but Ill take what I can get. Since I couldnt pull up any Blogger-powered blogs I assume that I am actually not special. Beijing is great so far. Very metropolitan, and very smoggy. Im sure the next few days will produce some great pictures, and hopefully some good stories. 1Generos...

The first attached picture should answer any questions as to how Bill and I traveled to Monaco. We are slaves to the masculine style. The second picture highlights our rigorous excercise routine that kept us at the peak fitness required to impress the well-dressed. Both programs were later determined to be totally ineffective. With Russian and Chinese Visas in hand, Im off to Italy for a few days of skiing before I board my trans-Mongolian train. Thank you Easy Jet. The North Atlantic is Full of Waves. I am now on a ferry headed for Iceland. As usual, I have found some great motorcyclists and probably won't do anything but talk about bikes for the next twelve hours on the way to the Shetland Islands. It's not rough on the North Atlantic yet, but nothing stays the same. Tie the bikes down! Posted by 5pairs at 12:52. Should be an adventure. I can't wait. I will post more soon from what I am sure will be a very long 4 days on the ferry. Posted by 5pairs at 09:22. I lov...

I'm in Canada now! Niagra Falls was impressive, but apparently not as compelling as the fudge shops surrounding it. Nothing says "power of nature" like fudge, t-shirts and branded shot glasses ("shooters"). Posted by 5pairs at 11:40. On the Way to Toronto. Today I rode to Niagra Falls, NY.
