About The George Inn. We are located on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border, in an Area of Outstanding Beauty with beautiful countryside, wonderful walks and a pretty village. We are a free house situated less than 10 miles away from both Andover and Hungerford and also readily accessible from Newbury. All our food is freshly prepared from quality ingredients. James’ steak, fish and chips in homemade beer batter and salmon fishcakes are always popular. We peel, cut and cook our own chips to ensure the best and freshest taste. Nicky makes nearly all the chutneys and dressings. We like to use ingredients from local suppliers such as meat from Randall Parker and Cooperes. We also have a large vegetable patch and where possible use vegetables and herbs from our garden. We provide a traditional roast lunch.
