Equipped for the Call. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Now We Are Six: Moving On
http://nowweare6.blogspot.com/2013/01/moving-on.html
Tuesday, January 15, 2013. I've been thinking that it is time to move on. From this blog, yes. Our adoption journey and the years in China are complete. Time for other things in my life, although I'm not sure yet what they will be. Perhaps it is God's mercy, for me to only remember the coziness of having everyone together to read and craft and such. I'm waiting for something new to capture my heart and my time. I have it to give. What is it? I've been waiting for months now, it seems. How bittersweet....

Now We Are Six: March 2012
http://nowweare6.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Yep, my sweet girl prepared breakfast in bed for me on Sunday morning. Scott was on an early morning bike ride and the other kids were all sleeping. She got up on her own and peeled and sliced a cucumber, put the slices on a plate, put the plate on a tray, and carried it all to my bedside. What greater act of kindness could a mama ask for? Glad my phone was right there so I could capture the moment. Friday, March 23, 2012. These are the two that had cared for Gwen! We held babies...

The girls have played with friends, and I've tried to make progress with the house. Tomorrow, our 21st anniversary, we venture to Valparaiso for an orientation overnight with Caleb, while Scott's parents stay here with our other kids. Life rolls on. Have I not commanded you? Sunday, October 21, 2012. Remember, you are buying the roots.". In the climate where I live, perennials die away every year. At least the part we can see does. But when the weather slowly warms again in the spring and the sun shines longer each day, they slowly re-emerge, sending up new plants that grow and blossom. I bought a lot of plants today. How could I not, at 50-70% off? Gardening is like that. Dirty. Waiting. And then beautiful. I like it. What a great idea God had. Sunday, October 14, 2012.

Now We Are Six: April 2012
http://nowweare6.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 21, 2012. The night before the basketball tournament began there was a kick-off parade with about 200 people parading through the streets of Dumangas with bamboo torches (I got to help make these! Drum beats led the way through the dark streets of the town, ending back at the church. So cool! Not sure if I will ever do something like that again! I love how Caleb seems to have fire flowing from behind him in this pic! Our kids helped lead the songs and motions for VBS. These sweet ladies f...

Lots of restaurants and market stalls still closed, and the local children have been out of school for weeks. Still some fireworks to be heard every night, although the all night bashes have ended. Waiting in the hallway outside the gym for their turn to perform. Dragons abound. here is the display of stuffed dragons at Carrefour. This cool guy at an outdoor mall is created out of CDs. Not really. :-).

Wednesday, May 30, 2012. My dear friend's texted prayer this morning, in response to my text to her telling of lost items in the midst of days of packers in our house, my sleepless nights and anxious heart as details of the coming weeks spin through my head. I pray for comfort and peace of mind, for the absence of anxiety, that the lost will be found, for the feeling of being well rested and alert, for a sound mind and a terrific day.". Now We Are Six: December 2011
http://nowweare6.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 16, 2011. Christmas Morning in Shanghai. This afternoon we head to the US for Christmas! Can't wait. looks like there is even snow in the forecast! This morning we had our own family celebration together, kind of a tradition now to celebrate in our Shanghai home, to have a "Christmas morning" a week or so before the calendar says December 25. We started out with the girls taking turns reading the Christmas story from Luke. Took him a few minutes to figure out! Sunday, December 11, 2011.
