One woman's journey to gorgeousness, health and organised living. Enough about you, let’s talk about me. Use it up Update 1. Imagine I wrote the first post on Use it Up a month and a half ago and this post came a fortnight after that. I actually started this challenge while on my blogging hiatus.]. I’ve been successful in not buying any products for the last fortnight, with encouragement from other Use-it-uppers on a simple living forum I belong to. You guessed it. I haven’t used them up yet. Cleanser an...

Out with the boxes again | lucinda sans

One woman's journey to gorgeousness, health and organised living. Enough about you, let’s talk about me. Out with the boxes again. Here’s a rule to dispose. Of excess boxes: those that have writing on them get thrown out. This courtesy of another friend on simple living forum. Boxes that indicate what they once held or have a brand name, either on the top, the barcode, the bottom, get thrown it out, no matter how small or inconspicuously it says it…the box goes. Top and base have writing so out with both.

One woman's journey to gorgeousness, health and organised living. Enough about you, let’s talk about me. I’ve stopped biting my nails. I think I might get a manicure.”. 8220;They look lovely. You should go to the place I go to. And get your feet done.”. 8220;No way, I have ugly feet. I only wear shoes that cover my toes.”. 8220;Don’t be silly. That’s why you should get some colour on your toe nails. Then you can wear sandals this summer.”. 8220;No, they really are really, really ugly.”. I have tried all ...

One woman's journey to gorgeousness, health and organised living. Enough about you, let’s talk about me. Archive by Author Lucinda Sans. Read this before it becomes a movie and everyone knows the story. Just follow the direction/order of the title of my post. I rarely rave about books. I am circumspect- after all, everyone likes different things. But you need to read this book. It is amazingly well written. Oh the poetry of the prologue! How police are bound by such bureaucratic processes? It was quite c...

Treading Softly: November 2014
http://blueeyedtreehugger.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Happy Fall (& 7 Month Update). Halloween was a giant low maintenance success this year. The 3 year old wanted to be a Ninja Turtle (same as last year) and the 6 year old didn't have any requests or complaints about going as Batman again so we reused last year's costumes and the baby, of course, went as Tigger just as his brothers did for their first Halloweens. Sitting on a blanket or mat playing with toys. His favourite thing to do. First snow fall of 2014. A CUP OF JO.

Treading Softly: February 2015

Friday, February 27, 2015. Budding outdoorsman just like his brothers. This post is super late in that Noah will be 11 months old in just a few short days but better late than never, right? I usually try to jot a few notes down throughout the month on my Notes application on my iPhone. I'm really happy I've continued to do this. With the other boys I was more sporadic in recording updates and didn't do too many with N at all. Here are my notes on Noah at 10 months:. Everywhere. and at lightning speed.

Treading Softly: Carving out the life we want to live
http://blueeyedtreehugger.blogspot.com/2015/04/carving-out-life-we-want-to-live.html
Sunday, April 19, 2015. Carving out the life we want to live. We've been looking at our finances and trying to better align them with our values, goals, and the things that make us happiest. Our family budget (which I just realized I need to write an update post on! We also just made a big family. What a fabulous reason to not be blogging! I always enjoy reading about how people are being intentional in their choices and carving out the life they want. Thanks for sharing! April 20, 2015 at 9:00 AM.

Treading Softly: August 2014
http://blueeyedtreehugger.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 25, 2014. Keeping our cable package and screen time. For years I've been pushing to get rid of cable TV. Mainly to save money but also to cut screen time. We don't have strict rules around screen time in our house. We have two TVs. One in our bedroom is rarely used. We have an older PS3 which we mostly use to play movies from an external hard drive. We own a few kid-friendly video games for the PS3 but they aren't often played. Any rules around TV in your house? Monday, August 18, 2014.

Treading Softly: September 2014
http://blueeyedtreehugger.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 22, 2014. So long sweet summer. The view from our hammock at the trailer. Taken a few weekends ago. No filter. I will find secure an meaningful employment. I am loving my job! I will continue to pay off debt (at least $10,000) this year while at the same time taking a family vacation. I will make our house a home. I will make an effort to be healthy. I'm really excited about this goal because for the first time in 10 years, I'll be doing an organized sport! Monday, September 8, 2014.
