Texas and Other Things I Love. April 22, 2013. I wanted to keep what I previously posted for my Blogfolio because I feel that it is still valid. Throughout this class I have loved being able to be free with my writing. I have loved being given a prompt and been able to run with it. I like that my writing has been valued […]. March 27, 2013. FXRant: Oscar Pool Ballot, 87th Academy Awards
http://fxrant.blogspot.com/2015/02/oscar-pool-ballot-87th-academy-awards.html
A blogtacular blog filled with words, images, and whipped cream on top. Written by Todd Vaziri. Thursday, February 19, 2015. Oscar Pool Ballot, 87th Academy Awards. It's time for the Awesomest Oscar Pool Ballot In The History Of Oscar Pool Ballots. This way, in a tight race for the winner of the pool, the winner most likely would not be determined by the non-mainstream films (in other words, blind guesses). This year, I started with a ballot from The Gold Knight. Download the ballot here. This blogy thin...

Rethink.: October 2010
http://jmolnar.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Looking from a fresh perspective. Sunday, October 03, 2010. Review and Commentary: ‘The Social Network’. I experienced college with Facebook. Toward the end of my senior year in high school, I heard about a website for social networking. Sure, we had MySpace in high school, but there was an air of mystery to it that was unappealing. Who was I really talking to? This is my backstory as I began to watch “ The Social Network. 8221; Suffice it to say I was already invested to this film even before taking my ...

Rethink.: Experiencing life’s fragile nature
http://jmolnar.blogspot.com/2012/12/experiencing-lifes-fragile-nature.html
Looking from a fresh perspective. Saturday, December 08, 2012. Experiencing life’s fragile nature. It's easy to forget how fragile life can be — how fragile we all are. I was reminded of this fragility earlier this year when I spent a few days in the hospital. There were so many things wrong with me, my family doctor thought it best to admit me. I was on multiple medications for weeks, steroids almost until Labor Day. This experience was the first real wake up call to the fragility of life — my life.

Rethink.: Tears of gratitude
http://jmolnar.blogspot.com/2015/04/tears-of-gratitude.html
Looking from a fresh perspective. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. A photo of me taken in my office after our 10th anniversary celebration. It hit me about 11 hours later. I cried tears of gratitude mixed with grief, overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and messages about the closing of Toledo Free Press. You never quite realize the impact something has had until it's gone or taken away. Reading a colleague's comment on a photo I posted started the tears. I have been with Toledo Free Press. What meant a lot ...

Rethink.: Remembering TV nights with my mom
http://jmolnar.blogspot.com/2015/06/remembering-tv-nights-with-my-mom.html
Looking from a fresh perspective. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Remembering TV nights with my mom. Today, my mom would have turned 56. My mom was one of my heroes, my best friend and my TV buddy. We loved to watch Game Show Network, Disney Channel and “Desperate Housewives” together. That night, before she went to sleep and never woke up, she came to my room and asked if I wanted to watch “Housewives.” It was a Sunday night. That may have been the last interaction I had with her. That smile on her face.
