Erik’s 2014 Yellowstone Vacation. 8221; Yep, a two-bear day meant the successful season had come to a close…and a midnight spaghetti dinner (Jody even cooked the noodles perfectly) never tasted so good! Opening weekend came and only 5 hunters. Only four made it up for the final weekend, which turned out to be a very quiet hunt. Finally tally for 2012: 4 bucks and a doe fawn. The 2004 deer season was unseasonably warm; average daily temperatures for the 16 day hunt were in the mid-40s…which made things quite comfortable. Twenty hunters. Camp life was as enjoyable as always, and the vittles were phenomenal, but the hunt (and lack of deer) left us scratching our heads. The 2017 Great 38 Race Weekend is scheduled to be held October 6-8, 2017. The inaugural Great 38 presented by Ole Miss Athletics was held October 8, 2016.
