We arrived in Mumbai early and were greeted by a traditional band playing rousing music. Our welcome to an exotic foreign city. Note they have Tuc Tucs in this area. Not very many but we saw a few. A six passenger Tuc Tuc. Bikes and Pedal Carts are very popular in Agra. Trash was everywhere we went. We saw signs everywhere for classes on all kinds of jobs for overseas work.

As we were leaving the port there were a large number of carts with personal goods from Egyptian workers returning from Kuwait. This picture shows what is done when labor is less expensive than using fork lifts. There were dozens of these carts moved around, all by manpower. Loading a truck with the personal goods. Kusadasi was another return to a port that Noreen and I visited on an earlier cruise….back in the 80s’ We had the opportunity to try some new adventures. This is approaching Kusadasi at dawn. The real question is what am I doing up so early? Sailing in past Guvercin Adasi (Pigeon Island) on which was built Pirate Castle (used against, not by, pirates) during the Ottoman era. I was just reminded today that persecution is very real. We live in a cloistered world here, and besides little jabs of disdain from unsaved and un-understanding family members (thankfully my family, though unsaved, is very understanding - and supportive! We don't really know what is persecution. I eagerly await that day!
