May 12, 2012. Three Grandsons Come to Visit- May 2012. We had real treat last weekend when Chad and Kristen's boys cleared their schedule for a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's house. It had been AGES since we'd seen them, and while they all did some growing, the tall one in the picture below is Christopher, not Alex. March 24, 2012. This is what started it all: a tiny child looks up at his mother, both of them new to this experience. She hopes she will do no wrong. He has no hopes, only trust and a wiped-clean slate of memory of which a life will write on, one stroke at a time. She wishes him only happy memories, and believes it can be so. Wants it to be so. The family is enlarged by this child, an uncle's sly smile watching as the grandfather allows the boy to capture all of the black pieces in one swooping movement.

August 20, 2011. Part of the reason for our trip to Utah was to see our second grandchild, Emilee, baptized. Because Kim and Matthew were moving, and had left their house in Arizona, they had arranged to have the baptism at her sister's ward. They did it an interesting way: every family had a room, with their own program, then took turns filing down the hall to the baptismal font. December 29, 2011. Day After Christmas 2011. The day after Christmas we decided to escape to Newport on the Levee, or is it Levee at Newport? At any rate, it's across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, which you can see above, behind Peter and Megan. We were there for a short time, then decided to head downtown Cincinnati to eat at the Pot Belly sandwich place, right on Fountain Square. After lunch we had time for the children to chase birds, pose for candids, and to visit. Loved this verse from Longfellow:.
