As you may well see I go for a while without a thing to say.to busy running after kids and frankly, my own tail. I like to use this area to 'talk' about things that are on my mind, document them so I don't forget years later or to just.be. Right now my thoughts are JUMBLED. Did they remember to feed the dog? Haiti is a small country, with a large population, on the western side of the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean. It is a beautiful contry with a sad history. First occupied by the Spanish and then the French, its natural resources were harvested by the French and shipped to France. The slave revolution of 1791 resulted in the formation of the first black republic in 1804. Today, it is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and one of the four poorest in the world. The Eyes of Haiti | The eyes that changed me
The Eyes of Haiti. The eyes that changed me. Their eyes have changed me. February 11, 2010. I came back from Haiti on January 11, 2010, 24 hours before the devastating earthquake shook Port-au-Prince. The people we met in Haiti with have fantastic stories of survival amidst a crumbling country. As a photographer, I feel privileged that my eyes saw the people of Haiti and their suffering. I am passionate about sharing what I know about these precious children, and letting their eyes tell their own stories.
