The Hali Project - Medical Home Project

This is by far the largest project we have ever taken on, and we have been blessed to see positive results in the practice we work in as well as other practices that have allowed us to train family members to work in partnership with them. Once a parent has been identified by a pediatric practice as a potential Consultant, our goal is to educate them to help families access and coordinate specialty services, link to community resources, overcome barriers, and navigate the various social service systems.

This two-day training program places emphasis on developing personal awareness, knowledge, and the skills parents need to be healthy advocates for our children and to build a team of professionals and experts to support our dreams for our children. Some of the topics covered during the training include:. Understanding the impact of broken dreams. Understanding the grief process and its chronic nature. Understanding the emotions we experience and when they might present themselves.

The Hali Project - Marriage Reatreat

This weekend retreat begins Friday evening and ends after lunch on Sunday. Participants will be spoiled by a week-end stay at the Hudspeth House in Canyon and home-cooked meals by Karen Thompson throughout the weekend. This event is free to families who have kids with special needs, with the only thing you’re responsible for being your kids’ childcare for the weekend, and getting to the Hudspeth House in Canyon (and we will do our best to try to help you with that if you need it). September 16-18, 2016.
