Jedi Mama: Strong Running Mama
http://thejedimama.blogspot.com/2015/05/strong-running-mama.html
Monday, May 4, 2015. I started running 5 years ago. The voice inside my head is pretty loud. "Why are you even doing this? You've been a couch potato bookworm your entire life. You don't belong here. You can't do this, why even try? Who do you think you are? I've had a few good runs in the last couple of weeks to help mute that voice, but it was still there. Sara (1st woman overall), Kathleen (4th overall and 1st in Age Group), and me. Starting a wee bit too fast. I finished the race in 27:22. I needed t...

Jedi Mama: Worked hard = win
http://thejedimama.blogspot.com/2014/05/worked-hard-win.html
Monday, May 5, 2014. Worked hard = win. I didn't do it. I didn't break my PR. Didn't come close. And I'm okay with that (now). Before the race: Melissa, Sara, me and Elisa. I started out okay and did my first mile right on target but then I just slowed down. I thought about Lauren Fleshman. Telling me to go get it:. And I sped up. But it just wasn't quite enough to get the time I wanted. I finished in 28:06. Darlene, Sara, me, Elisa and Melissa with her big-ass trophy. Youre a kick ass woman! Header imag...

Jedi Mama: This is 40
http://thejedimama.blogspot.com/2015/07/this-is-40.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2015. I meant to do so many posts over the last month but nothing has quite been how I planned it. I'm going to try to prevent writing a novel here, so to be very brief:. At the opposite end of the spectrum, also in June, Vader threw me a "surprise" early 40th birthday party. I knew it was coming but not where or when (until that week). It was a great night filled with wonderful friends and the perfect beginning to what will no doubt be my best decade yet. Ignore the red eye. B•l...

Jedi Mama: Bia sport watch review
http://thejedimama.blogspot.com/2014/05/bia-sport-watch-review.html
Monday, May 19, 2014. Bia sport watch review. UPDATE 3/20/2015: It is with a heavy heart that I have to say that Bia is "ceasing its operations." As of April 3, we can no longer use the Bia as it exists now. If all you want is a GPS distance/time tracker, you're fine. But if you want mile splits, elevation, SOS and all of things we've come to love about Bia, you'll have to get a different watch. Watch, Go Stick, charger and cool packaging. Without the product even completed! It was a total leap of faith ...

Jedi Mama: Garmin Forerunner 220 review
http://thejedimama.blogspot.com/2015/05/garmin-forerunner-220-review.html
Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Garmin Forerunner 220 review. Not a picture from today. Because I run with my phone, as soon as I hit save on the watch my run is uploaded to Garmin Connect (which then feeds into MapMyRun). I can see my mile splits, elevation, and cadence (! For an actual detailed analysis and review of the watch, check out DC Rainmaker's post. I bought this with my own money and reviewed it so I can pretend to have things to do. The O'Sullivan Family: February 2011
http://ajosullivan.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
It came on during a 5 minute run in tonight's training (week 4 of the couch to 5K) and it was just what I needed to get through the long run. It brought up all of these weird memories that I have associated with the song. First, I was almost named Gloria.can you even imagine? Gloria, you're always on the run now. Running after somebody, you gotta get him somehow. I think you've got to slow down before you start to go bad. I think you're headed for a breakdown, so be careful not to show it. Tony and I hit...

The O'Sullivan Family: mom guilt
http://ajosullivan.blogspot.com/2011/02/mom-guilt.html
I suppose I could be a "super mommy" and read him some Shakespeare while he eats but umm yeah, I'll save that for the super mommies and enjoy my little bit of quiet time and guilty pleasure TV. Speaking of guilt, my latest psychic Today show experience was a segment on how to deal with working mom guilt. They have already covered postpartum hair loss and mom brain which, in addition to the working mom guilt, are three experiences of motherhood that I could do without!
