The Heart Of A Boy...

Monday, March 23, 2009. One Year Surgery Free! I'll make this as short and sweet as possible. It's good news and bad news. Bad news first, his valve has not shown significant narrowing however his valve is leaking a lot more. This forces us to re look. At our plans for intervention. We had originally planned on him having a balloon catheter which is far less invasive than open heart surgery. This most likely won't be an option now. He will probably need to go right to surgery and his Doctor. Taken from: ...

The Heart Of A Boy...: What is the Ross Konno Operation?

http://www.theheartofaboy.blogspot.com/2009/03/what-is-ross-konno-operation.html

Monday, March 23, 2009. What is the Ross Konno Operation? It's complicated, (as well as a complex surgery) but in layman's terms it means that they will take out his diseased aortic valve and replace with his own pulmonary valve. He will then get a pig valve in the place of the pulmonary valve. The reason for trading valves is because the pulmonary valve get less 'traffic' and is better able to handle the pig valve in it's place rather than the high traffic aortic valve. Once a dream, now a miracle...: We're still here....

http://littlemiraclestella.blogspot.com/2011/01/we-still-here.html

Tuesday, January 18, 2011. It's been awhile since our last post, and a lot has happened since. I'll upload some pictures, but I can't write too much since I'm doing this from my phone. Stella had a great Christmas with lots of presents to open, and now we have toys all over the place! In November we went to disneyland with some of the family and Stella thought she was in heaven! We would love to take her at primary's so she can see some of her favorite nurses to show herself off. Earl? January 19, 2011 a...

Monday, March 30, 2009. Stella's new space helmet. Wellafter all looks like Stella did qualify for a remolding helmet! As of Friday she weighs 17 lb. It is so hard to believe the progress she has made, she's our little miracle. As you'll be able to see, she was NOT happy about the head cast! She's not happy about things. Stella giving Daddy a crusty look, (I love this picture) as she sports her new helmet for the first time. At home-wating for lunch to be served. Posted by Sara and Stefano. Our beautiful...
