The Home That Lasts. My Husband is a Wizard. September 19, 2016. This is the right side of the kitchen. This is the left side , we still have to demo the old floor but that will happen after the right side is framed. And shot looking back towards the entrance. August 25, 2016. August 25, 2016. The kitchen demo is about 50% complete, the main thing left is the floor. We are also incidentally out of room already in our 30 yd dumpster. Ah the joys of renovation. And so it begins (the kitchen! The Home That Lasts. And so it begins (the kitchen! August 17, 2016. The mudroom tiling is done and almost all the electrical is done (which is hubby’s gig). Today was packing of the kitchen and I also started ripping out the old bathroom. Yay! Obviously we have to go back and drywall, frame the closet etc. Here’s the terrifying current state of our “dining area” in the kitchen. Yeah somehow all of this needs to get moved out this week. All filled back in which JCB then compacted, it was there anyway helping me spread 22 tons of gravel for the drive, 300m of it! This lead me to the landscaping at front of Chaleur. A new life in France, 10 year farm renovation project. Feeling exposed Jan 2014. December 31, 2014. December 27, 2014. Got some walls to expose & first up was the TV corner, to the right of doorway will be a stud wall built coming out at an angle but allowing the dressed stone of the doorway to be exposed. Next was a wall within the shower, a false ceiling will bring the height down to meet top of doorway. And the other side where the bath will sit. Front wall of bedroom exposed, some lovely big stones to.

But only just and it was all such a blur, 6 week stretch & each being a 70 hour week, before which I was informed by the doc that I was suffering Chronic fatigue and that I needed to back off😦 if only! I didn’t get many photos i’m afraid of the glass units I put in above the doors, the joint and taping of plasterboards, painting and decorating, tiling bathroom floor or under floor heating. Insulation and damp proof.

Can’t expose this wall as its been repaired at some point with air bricks so this we’ll clad and shape to meet the stone where it protrudes. Batten and boards with one eager dog to go for a walk despite having the freedom of 20 acres to run around in at will! Looks nice cut into the stone. Canopée… April 2015.
