House of Hoovers

Thursday, January 30, 2014. Kyle had an amazing trip to Colombia and returned home to the NC mountains just in time for our Snowpacolypse aka our 1" of snow. It's summer in South America of course so he was not ready for what has become our norm this winter- POLAR VORTEX! It was his first experience in Latin America and I think that it was a good one. One that I know he wants to share more about. I told him that I think it is pretty amazing that he has now been on 5 of 7 continents. The holidays were a f...

House of Hoovers: Kenya Believe It? {Two Weeks and Counting}

http://thehooversinternational.blogspot.com/2013/11/kenya-believe-it-two-weeks-and-counting.html

Monday, November 18, 2013. Two Weeks and Counting}. I've been all kinds of behind in posting in this space. Kyle has been gone to Kenya for over two weeks and the blog equivalent of crickets has been going on here. Being a single mama is hard. That is all I have to say. In other news God has really done big things while Kyle has been in Kenya. Watch this to be miffed and mystified by that phrase. Here are the highlights from Kyle's trip thus far:. They managed to get a well dug and set up properly. Milli...

House of Hoovers: November 2012

http://thehooversinternational.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 28, 2012. We joined Kyle's family the weekend after Thanksgiving and enjoyed good food and I think it is safe to say that everyone enjoyed watching Millie. The wee one ate her share of the turkey and loved every minute of it! She is so close to walking it is painful! Here are a few pictures from the day as well as a couple of shots from Thanksgiving Day. We went to the playground and shared dinner with friends that evening. Wednesday, November 21, 2012. House of Hoovers: Welcome to 2014!

http://thehooversinternational.blogspot.com/2014/01/welcome-to-2014.html

Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Well, it is a little belated, but welcome to 2014! We've stumbled our way into the new year, but we're here and happy to be! The holidays were a fun and busy time. We were able to enjoy precious family time as we journeyed across the old North State and then the day after Christmas we made our way to Kentucky for Cross Con. Our time at the conference was motivating and exhausting! Yes, our wild girl turned 2! You'll remember that Kyle took a trip to Kenya back in November&#46...

http://thehooversinternational.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 28, 2013. It has been a long road to this point. We've sent out letters to many of you, but I'm sure you have a million questions like where have ya'll been lately? We'll be visiting more of you in the coming months, but what I am here to tell you right now is the big details of the journey that we are about to transition into. For a few weeks and after that we will be hitting the road to visit many of you and share our hope and vision for the future. That is the deal. We're moving tw...

Experiencing the journey God has long before planned for me.while attempting to joyfully smile all the way! Thursday, April 14, 2011. My Mom in Mexico! She walked on the cobble stone streets. In Toluca she visited the Botanical Gardens, Cathedrals, ate Local Chili-Mango Ice Chilaquiles, Pozole, and Fresas Con Crema. She visited Parque Viveros for a walk (the place I run). Parque Viveros is also a tree nursery. She ate a Bellini, the "spinning" sky restaurant. She ate in a rooftop cafe overlooking downtown.

Experiencing the journey God has long before planned for me.while attempting to joyfully smile all the way! Thursday, March 24, 2011. For our CURICLUB activity last Friday we went to one of our English Club member's house and to eat! His parents invite the group each year and they cook us yummy Pozole. Pozole is a traditional Mexican dish that is in my Top 3 of the foods that I have tried here. I could eat Pozole all day long! The whole group eating! 2 1/2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves.

Experiencing the journey God has long before planned for me.while attempting to joyfully smile all the way! Thursday, March 3, 2011. Las Trajineras de Xochimilco. In the Program Study, I am reading the book "The Praying Life" by Paul Miller. I have learned a lot about prayer and communion with God. We when we are not in communion with Him through prayer, or not aware that He is always working, we miss out in the mist of becoming angry, trying to control things, or trying making things "better"! Life to the Max. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. We Walk to Remember. May 24, 2012. We did something simple last Sunday. Simple, but significant. We took a family walk. It wasn’t a big deal. We probably would’ve done it anyway. But we wouldn’t have worn matching tshirts… that part was to remind us of the significance. All dressed for our walk. A few of Ados favourite walking babies and their moms (my cousins! And that’s why we wanted to take the day to cheer her on. Donations were col...

The Hooves on Tour

Samstag, 6. Dezember 2008.
