http://utahdesertdwellers.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 22, 2012. We stayed home on New Year's Eve and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows as a family. Jack got a new fire pit for Christmas and Jessica and Chad gave us some camping gear including roasting sticks. Guy can't handle a little cold. Time for New Year's Resolutions:. Become a better runner. I have started training for my second marathon. Become a triathlete. If his knees will cooperate. Learn to read before Kindergarten starts this fall. 1st Day of Dance Class: Ballet and Tap.

Desert Dwellers: May 2011
http://utahdesertdwellers.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Jack and I drove up to the Guacamole Trail near Virgin, UT, but this time the kids and I that got to ride the trail. Guy wasn't feeling his best, but he still got out and rode the slick rock. Sloan kept begging Jack to take her out to ride more. They are doing a good job staying on the trail by following the karens (stacks of rock that mark the trails.). Sloan fell a few times, but got right back on the bike. Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Sloan, Shannon, Chad, Jessica, Tessa, Dennis.

Desert Dwellers: Family Update
http://utahdesertdwellers.blogspot.com/2013/01/family-update.html
Thursday, January 17, 2013. I came across Jeremy Jessop's high school yearbook when I was helping the family unpack from their move. Check out this awesome picture of Jack! The kids got to go ice blocking with friends. We need to travel to see some snow. Veterans' Day in Washington City, Utah was nice. We watched the parade and walked through the flags. I am riding my bike more and maintaining a half marathon running base. My next marathon is the Ogden Marathon on my birthday, May 18th. I am a stay-at-ho...

Desert Dwellers: Halloween 2012
http://utahdesertdwellers.blogspot.com/2013/01/halloween-2012.html
Thursday, January 17, 2013. This year Guy said he wanted a store bought costume. Bummer for me. He wanted something scary, so we found a skull man costume. He also wanted his pumpkin to look like Frankenstein this year. Sloan wanted to be her favorite princess, Snow White. She applied make-up to her princess pumpkin and won a prize at the Tonaquint Nature Center's Halloween event for kids. First visiting a fortune teller. From the look on Guy's face I would guess it was not a good fortune. A girl and a g...

Desert Dwellers: July 2012
http://utahdesertdwellers.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 9, 2012. Family Trip to Southern California. This is Guy's dream come true! Sloan found a princess, even at Legoland. Sloan isn't a good driver. Let's hope this isn't foreshadowing. Who gave Guy a license to drive? Guy has his Legos and Sloan is asleep. It was lots of fun! Guy's favorite show was the sealions. Killer Whale Show: We are sitting further back after getting soaked at the dolphin show. Sloan was not happy to be wet. Jack got a wetsuit and now the training begins. Jack's third tri...

Desert Dwellers: April 2012
http://utahdesertdwellers.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 12, 2012. St Patrick's Day 2012. Jack raced the True Grit 50-mile mountain bike race. Can you see Jack? He is looking at the camera with his hand up (right after the blue port-a-potties). Jack did a great job! The weather was much better than last year when it rained all day and nearly everyone quit. Blue Angels Air Show. While Jack was racing, the kids and our friends Heather and Bode Turner went to the Blue Angels Air Show. Can you see the wing-walker on top? Guy had some tough competit...

Desert Dwellers: June 2011
http://utahdesertdwellers.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 9, 2011. Jack took the kids to Guy's fishing class first and then they came up to enjoy the bounce houses and pizza. I got second over all in women and first in my age group. I felt good at the end. Looking forward to the 1/2 marathon with Charlotte next month. He gave us two metal swords he forged in his high school shop class. They were in Grandma's house before she passed away. Guy wants to fence with them instead of use them as a decoration. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). H is for Handmade.

Monday, December 26, 2011. Guy's big present was a LEGO table with 2 chairs. Sloan got a chest with princess dresses and accessories. Sloan is so excited to open this robotic dog that she is moving too fast to get a good picture. Guy got the Star Wars Millennium Falcon with Han Solo and Chewbacca action figures. Opening Grandma Peggy's gifts. Funny quote by Guy:. Mom, you have to see this. My poop is shaped like a candy cane. It is huge! Brian Head With Friends. Sloan didn't last long sledding. Sloan was...

Desert Dwellers: July 2011
http://utahdesertdwellers.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Jack let Shorty (our dog) out to potty and went to bed. Shorty let himself back in and the backdoor stood open until 2:30am when I shut it after getting Sloan a drink of water. The next morning I found a snack size bag of Doritos shredded in the pantry. The varmint also ate through some Otter Pops that were not yet frozen in a box in the bottom of the pantry. Apparently it likes junk food. I held the box shut and put it out onto the back patio. I am glad Jack thought of taking...
