SewToBed: November 2009
http://sewtobed.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, 12 November 2009. This is installment number 2 on the October Swap round-up. Was an opportunity to think small. The mats were to be pieced, quilted and bound as usual, but to be roughly 13" x 17" in size. And as it turned out we both have 2 kids (one of each colour) we decided to make them one each! I struggled for ages trying to decide what sort of patterns to use. For Anna's toddler son I settled on an I-Spy design inspired by. Cindy Carter's Scrappy Split Rail. S tutorial for guidance. The s...

Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Sweet Girl, a Chicken and a Zebra. So I have this sweet girl. She also has a chicken that goes with her almost everywhere. Well last week on Friday, Grandpa had a zebra sent to her by Cassie from You Go Girl Designs. Isn't this zebra just adorable? Her name is Zinny and Rachael adores her, I think as must as Chicken Doodle. Thank you Dad and Cassie for the wonderful surprise you gave to Rachael. Later I will post the surprise that I got. Monday, March 30, 2009. Today is my Sweeti...

Laquo; Gwen is Seriously Ill. It is with sorrow that I write to tell you that our precious daughter Gwen passed away peacefully in our arms early Wednesday morning. She had contracted a flu that developed into pneumonia from which she could not recover. We thank God for her life which was rich and full of people who loved her, and for our family, friends and even strangers who are carrying us through this sad sad time. Thank you to all you dear people who journeyed with us and with Gwen through this blog.

Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul. Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Started sewing my hexies together for the new top. I found a new blue but now looking at the pictures it should have been in the first round, looks lighter to me. Oh well, will see how it looks next to the darker blues I have. The snow is finally melting, and there are huge puddles around. Luckily the ones in the yard are sinking into the ground overnight. Links to this post. Monday, ...

Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul. Thursday, May 19, 2011. Found the turquoise in Arizona at some of the rock and gem shows we went to on your winter trip there earlier this year. I must have lost a few beads on the blue and white ones, they aren't even anymore, easy to fix.The little ones are bent out of shape but I'll re-bend them the next time I wear them. Links to this post. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Worked a bit on my watercolour quilt top.

Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Got my "new to me" book. Didn't take very long to get here. Embroidered 2 patterns on a couple of flowers already joined to the top. Our weather turned cold and rainy so I had time to sit inside and sew. Joined 14 flowers to make my total 54. Think I will make banana muffins today while I do some machine crazy quilt squares. Links to this post. Labels: One Flower Wednesdays. One last...

Birdie: Frying Pans Etc.

Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul. Monday, November 14, 2011. I counted the different varieties of frying pans I have recently when I added a red cast iron enamel grill to my hanging rack. I've got 17, that's not counting the 2 or 3 I have in the trailer for camping. Although most aren't technically frying pans that's what I call them. The 11 inch red enamel. Grill has a panini press that I've used for steak. Cooks really fast. An 11 inch square...

Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul. Wednesday, November 16, 2011. I made 2 hexies this week, one with new fabric and a repeat, I still need more flowers for my garden and some repeats are fine. Added 43 more flowers to total 144. I am finding it easy to add a row while watching TV at night. Didn't post last week because of an appointment in the city so they really added up. Labels: One Flower Wednesdays. Lots of Fabric 2. Have a nice day! Subscri...
