Dogfish Head Sah’Tea | The Humble Brewer
http://thehumblebrewer.com/dogfish-head-sahtea
One man's journey to better beer. February 18, 2014. By The Humble Brewer. This was definitely one of the more interesting beers we sampled at the last club brew day. The story behind it is pretty cool too. Dogfish Head has a good description of this ancient process and they show videos. Of their modern take on it- heating the river rocks white hot on an outdoor grill and adding them to the wort with a forklift. They use a German weizen yeast and flavor it with Finnish juniper berries and black tea.

One man's journey to better beer. Monthly Archives: February 2014. February 25, 2014. By The Humble Brewer. About a year ago we decided to build a kegerator because kegging is easier than bottling, pours are not limited to bottle size, and let’s face it, beer on tap is cool. If you’re familiar with bottling beer, you are … Continue reading →. Subscribe to the Humble Brewer via Email. One man's journey to better beer. Yeast Starter for Brew Day. February 15, 2014. By The Humble Brewer. I’m preparing for the club brew day tomorrow. I used 8 oz of light DME (dry malt extract) for my 10-gallon batch. I started by boiling about 2000ml of filtered water. It boiled for 15 minutes. Refractometer reading. I was shooting for 1.040. My reading was 1.045. Poured into the erlenmeyer flask. I bought my flask weight. I added a pinch of yeast nutrient, DAP. Added the Yorkshire Ale Yeast, WLP037.

The Humble Brewer | One man's journey to better beer
One man's journey to better beer. February 25, 2014. By The Humble Brewer. About a year ago we decided to build a kegerator because kegging is easier than bottling, pours are not limited to bottle size, and let’s face it, beer on tap is cool. Some other benefits of having a kegerator are that you can control carbonation levels, and you can carbonate beverages like barley wine, water, soda and apple juice that would be hard to carbonate otherwise. I find that it takes about 10 days for a beverage to becom...

The Humble Bungalow
THE HUMBLE BUNGALOW. Happiness is not a destination, it is a way of life. February 07, 2014. The Valentine Fever is starting around our house. You know it's my favorite holiday! And every year, these little wonders start hitting my grocery cart mid-January, and gracing the countertops of my kitchen day in and day out throughout February. It's a hard thing to admit that junk food had me so hooked. Did I say had. Challenge has been tougher than Candy Corn Free Halloween. Then I threw them away. Christ is i...
