Saturday, 15 March 2014. Patisserie du Vin bottle label illustration. As much as a like to work on paintings of cats and dogs for private clients, I like nothing more than working to a tight brief over a short period of time. The brief was to draw a properly French patisserie. I've had plenty of references from my time spent in Paris so as the work progressed, I've added a French poodle and a bicycle. Tuesday, 10 December 2013. I have never illustrated anything for children before so when I decided to do this little painting for a private client, I was a bit out of my depth, especially that it was all hand painted with water based temperas (Plakkaatverf Gouaches from Talens are my favourite but difficult to obtain in Scotland so I am cherishing my old box full of these jars! Thursday, 23 October 2014. A little update with a spaniel. I've had a pretty busy summer and blog got a bit neglected (as well as my social life) so let's rectify it asap! All we can do is to cook a simple supper, have a bath and plunge straight into bed to be able to start all over again the next day! There are several private commissions that I need to update you with and I look forward to hear from you before the Christmas time if you would like to treat your friends or family with an original gift!

I knew that the moment I buy a warm jumper, the Summer will finally arrive, so I have done just that and here we are - a first week this year of PROPER summer temperatures and blazing sunshine. Sunday, 17 June 2012. Robert Burns was here. He died just 37 and left 12 children and some excellent poetry behind (some of my favourites are a wedding hymn A Red, Red Rose. Which was an inspiration for John Steinbeck and a ballad of Tam o' Shanter. Which invites people to visit a famous bridge and Kirk with Burn's father tomb until nowadays, just like we did). I am much better with images than with words so here are some pictures from my iPhone that were not included in my Instagram feed from that day:.

Our friends came over from Ayshire (it is 2 hours drive from Edinburgh after all) and as we have not seen them for a long time (they have had a baby girl meanwhile, she is 6 months old now! We had to catch up properly. And before we knew it, it turned out to be a.7 hour chat in Spoon! Photography and life in general. Sorry guys, we have not even noticed time passing!
