Life's a black tuxedo. Tuesday, August 19, 2008. Tuesday, August 05, 2008. Speaking of calling out into the darkness. I am still toiling in the same black hole. This is my 3rd year of working with addicts and their children, and my compassion - oxygen for the deep spaceof addiction/recovery ‘support services' - is running low. It’s just harder and harder to remain objective, to suspend judgement. Or hold out hope because the faces change (and change and change). But the song remains the same. Below the po...

Life's a black tuxedo....: January 2007
http://middledaughter.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Life's a black tuxedo. Wednesday, January 24, 2007. Snapshots of what I've loved this week. Simple math: an empty house 2 pillows a vintage pink ballerina blanket the couch. An overcast afternoon x myself = the most perfect nap since 2003. The solemn onyx face of night peering in my bedroom window, a full moon caught in her teeth. Succulent bites of browned chicken, coconut milk and red thai curry ladled over sticky rice. Our success in this war is often measured by the things that did not happen. ".

Life's a black tuxedo....: July 2007
http://middledaughter.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Life's a black tuxedo. Friday, July 20, 2007. You Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone. I miss the possums. After several long work-weeks spent slogging up a seething, toxic river. Of combustible human agitation, I have begun to miss the old days, and to see. The beauty of simple problems like a basement full of razor-toothed rodents. In fact – those moonlit May nights of releasing puffy babies into the wilderness. Seem downright ambrosial to me now. They love their music. They may be a little light in...

http://middledaughter.blogspot.com/2008/08/its-been-6-months-since-i-drew-black.html
Life's a black tuxedo. Monday, August 04, 2008. It’s been 6 months since I drew the black cloth across this mirror,. Six months since my best reader took his leave,. Moving on to a place where all that can ever be written has long been known. And though it wasn. 8217;t entirely that loss which stopped my writing,. It is thoughts of him that move me to write again. I heard an owl late last night, calling out into the darkness again and again. Mournful, yet steadily. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Life's a black tuxedo. Sunday, August 19, 2007. Saturday, August 18, 2007. A month of sundays. Give or take - that's what it's been since last time I posted here. Likely enough time to write a short story. Or complete a piece of art - though sadly - I have done neither. Positively enough time to clean my house, weed my garden. And get rid of that outdated government peanut butter. That's been riding around in my car with me. Since I pulled it at work several weeks ago. I've also had a thyroid sonogram.

Life's a black tuxedo....: February 2009
http://middledaughter.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Life's a black tuxedo. Monday, February 23, 2009. Jerry Lewis made me feel old. We at Chez Shoes enjoyed the 81st annual Academy Awards show quite a bit, dining on salad and salmon while we made our usual (badly informed and highly prejudicial) comments on everyone and everything. To keep this short and sweet, I will just make a list of my highs and lows:. Highs - The dress Penelope Cruz was wearing. Kate Winslet's dad whistling from the audience. To be honest, I had a hard time concentrating on the show...

Life's a black tuxedo....: June 2007
http://middledaughter.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Life's a black tuxedo. Wednesday, June 27, 2007. It seems like years since I've gotten on here - mired as I've been in my ridiculous work snafu. But I did the difficult deed today - confronted my fears and my peers as well -. And tomorrow the sun will likely still be shining. I think I know now what a 'whistle blower' feels like, and it's not a fun place to be. Summer has arrived yet again in great Northwest,. Bringing cornflower skies,. Light that carries heat. And everywhere the heady scent. Goodnight,...

Life's a black tuxedo. Saturday, December 30, 2006. The return of the prodigal shoes. Driving home tonight, music cranked ridiculously loud, I suddenly realized that. My self-imposed exile from writing is over. Not that I have much to say at the moment, except that I have missed being here. And will be back soon. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Complicated. Curious. Willing. View my complete profile. The return of the prodigal shoes. Cool places to visit. Http:/ www.kingafonzosrealm.blogspot.com.

Life's a black tuxedo. Monday, January 19, 2009. I have recieved a few comments about my last post -. Mostly along the lines of, "I did not think the Golden Globes were amazing at all.". I was referring to the extreme overuse of the word amazing-. As in: "It's amazing how many amazing people missed my amazing use of irony. In my amazing post about the amazing overuse of the word amazing.". Monday, January 12, 2009. About those Golden Globe Awards. All I have to say is:. P pr and vb. n.
