The Inbetween Time: August 2006

http://www.theinbetweentime.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html

Insert ironic quote here". Monday, August 28, 2006. Signs you work overnight:. You walk into your bedroom at 10 at night in the middle of the summer, and can't get over how dark it is in there. Your favorite pasttime in April is "Starting at the Sun at 6pm". You get up early in the Winter to see the sunset. You know full well that the middle of August, at 3am, is the best time ever to go out for a walk. Add a light breeze and they should open parks at this hour. You've contemplated taking a nap at 11pm.

Insert ironic quote here". Tuesday, February 21, 2006. It is in deep solitude that I find the gentleness with which I can truly love my brothers. The more solitary I am the more affection I have for them. Solitude and silence teach me to love my brothers for what they are, not for what they say." - Thomas Merton. We can't handle silence anymore. I was reminded of this again last week at church. We shall not be silent! Admittingly the world around us is not silent these days. If I open a window, I can...

Insert ironic quote here". Friday, November 16, 2007. It seems like The U.S. stops two and a half days a year. We're coming up on all of them in a 5 week period. The other day is Christmas Eve, and my favorite experience of the season is leaving church that evening and driving through the near-silent city. The malls are closed and the streets are empty. To me, it's nice to see that even this country that doesn't slow down still knows how to take a break twice a year. Posted by Justin at 9:51 AM.

Zip Line Theology and Spiritual Spelunking. To seek Truth, not answers; for where answers are self satisfying, Truth alone will sustain you". Thursday, September 07, 2006. Pretty much my Manifesto. Have I seen you lately? That’s a question I’ve been asking myself a lot lately; and a challenge I would put forth to others. But read on, so I can explain what I mean by the word seen . Where the majority do most of their living. To begin, think a moment on where your mind usually is. Worried for the most part.

Zip Line Theology and Spiritual Spelunking. To seek Truth, not answers; for where answers are self satisfying, Truth alone will sustain you". Monday, February 06, 2006. We Fumble and Stumble. First one, why don't we fall? What keeps us on our feet? Is it dumb luck? Second; should I be trying to figure it out? Keep track of our footing, but realize that we aren't totally in control; and be okay with that? Which leads me right to the second question: should I care? And back and forth and on and on and on.

Zip Line Theology and Spiritual Spelunking. To seek Truth, not answers; for where answers are self satisfying, Truth alone will sustain you". Saturday, October 21, 2006. Boxes, Stereotypes, and Leave it to Beaver. I am starting to relate the dilemma of my generation with that of the feminist movement in the late 1950s. In the fifties, women began to realize that there was more out there for them than the life they were leading at home, being a mother and a wife. Where did this desire come from? And being...

Through many conversations and a fair amount of pondering over the past few weeks, I have come to a sort of conclusion. It seems to me that the path to Truth, be it by the path of light or that of darkness, demands amazing balance. To be the fence straddler is to have one foot in this world or be lukewarm .

the in-between places

We are all in between other places, but for now we're just hanging out at the Oasis. Thursday, January 17, 2008. What do YOU want to be when you grow up? Think back: can you remember the first time anyone ever asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up? Do you remember your answer? I asked the folks in group tonight to think about their first memories of being interested in work, or their most interesting work stories, and here's what they came up with:. let's journey together for a while

Let's journey together for a while. Advent: Exposed, Preparing Room. To prepare for treatment for bed bugs, we had to move all our furniture and belongings to the middle of each room. Wednesday night, after a long day of cleaning and laundry and feeling sorry for myself, I curled up in my sleeping bag next to the startlingly high pile of worldly possessions in the center of my bedroom. More than the tiredness and the frustration, I felt exposed. Where was it all hiding when my room was orderly and tidy?

The In Between Space

The In Between Space. A blog about exploring life by Jessie Curtner. The world, and our experiences in it, are mysteries. There is so much about ourselves, others, and life that we don’t know. Our ego-driven minds don’t like this. We want clear answers! When we don’t understand, we do what we were conditioned to do: we become good students searching for the right answer. Why am I sad? The solution must be in self help book or article. Why is my partner so hard to read? Where do I belong? These are the sa...

They are years meant to be spent doing absolutely nothing, as well as absolutely everything. How is this possible you ask? Let me explain a bit about myself. I’m a twenty three year old woman living in Toronto, Ontario. Currently, I consider my job to be one that I don’t feel is real. It does exist! So in these ‘in between ...
