Sunday Morning Citrus Scones | The Inquisitive Chef
https://theinquisitivechef.wordpress.com/2014/01/12/sunday-morning-citrus-scones
No food left unexplored. Sunday Morning Citrus Scones. I love Sunday mornings. Sleeping in, good morning hugs from happy sleepy eyed kids, fresh coffee brewing, and time to make something a little more creative for breakfast. Scones are something that have eluded me. My dad can make the best biscuits-just seems to throw them together and they always come out amazing. Scones are basically biscuit dough. So I am not sure why they have always been so hard for me. 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1 Sift/whisk f...

No food left unexplored. Fresh spicy pineapple salsa. I was feeling adventurous. Every once in a while I pay for a good hearty fish steak. This tryout I used grilled Swordfish and the result was delicious. Any fish would be good, I haven’t tried it with chicken yet. 1 cucumber, diced small, (you can take seeds out if you like). 1 jalapeno, seeded, minced (2 if you like more spice). 1 can 8 oz crushed pineapple with juice. 1/2 cup minced fresh pineapple. Juice of 2 fresh limes. 1 TB light flavor olive oil.

No food left unexplored. Grilled Corn on the Cob. Every year I can hardly wait for the corn season, and I drive out to a local ranch to buy some of the best local corn I have ever had. Sometimes out of desperation I will go to a corner ‘farmers market’ but it’s hit or miss if it will be any good. Herb Butter Grilled Corn on the Cob. Cream together in a small bowl. 1/2 cup butter, softened. 1 TB chopped fresh basil. 1-2 tsp fresh thyme leaves, off the stem and slightly chopped. 1 tsp fresh minced chives.

The Inquisitive Anystid | Ponderings on Words and Biota
Ponderings on Words and Biota. About the Inquisitive Anystid. In his very long poem. On the nature of poets, Jonathan Swift famously noted that parasites can themselves be parasitzed. A few weeks ago I came across an interesting case of hyperparasitism. I had washed a recently road-killed Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. It yielded many lovely mites and one feather louse. I slide-mounted the latter and representatives of the former. Phthiraptera: Philopteridae) from a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. Due to its spread...

History of Art – Jane M Murdock | History of Art – Open College of the Arts
History of Art – Jane M Murdock. History of Art – Open College of the Arts. Visit – All Saints’ Church, Kedleston, Derbyshire. January 10, 2017. This church was formerly known as St Margaret’s and stands in the grounds of Kedleston Hall near Derby – the hall being the subject of an exercise in Part 4 which required me to visit a Neoclassical house.
