The Intrepid Piscator

Thursday, 23 July 2015. Disorganised days drift into the chaos of traffic, and so follows the haphazard loading of tackle. About an hours drive away lies the low flowing sinuous abode of gold. Through humid field and o'er five bar gate, I go to prospect. The chatter of the magpie, shrill call of the 'fisher welcome, as the mallards argue. The grass moist, seeps, as the evening sun begins to fade. No, not here.onwards to the grasping, rasping snags and depth, today. On the opposite bank, murderous squeali...

The Intrepid Piscator: A Pause For Reflection, and a New Adventure.

http://theintrepidpiscator.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-pause-for-reflection-and-new-adventure.html

Wednesday, 1 January 2014. A Pause For Reflection, and a New Adventure. It's time to sit awhile behind the long fallen tree, with baited hook.and ponder. Ponder the flow before me and gaze downstream at the distant bend in the river. At the point where I rest the river flows steady. There are of course, seasonal differences, but it's path is predictable and unwinding. 1 January 2014 at 10:09. The anglers prayer :o). 1 January 2014 at 17:52. Nice post to start the new year. 11 January 2014 at 21:29. With ...

The Intrepid Piscator: Citronella Nights

http://theintrepidpiscator.blogspot.com/2015/06/citronella-nights_26.html

Friday, 26 June 2015. With my newly re-connected fishing head firmly back on I pass through the clanky gate to the inviting green sanctuary that is Ouse. The undergrowth seems to have grabbed and kept the days sun and I stroll headstrong through it's thermal pockets. This evening I do consider my options, the entire beat is mine. Passing every pool and glide, weighing one's options as the blood sucking insects case me out. I arrived at this swim choice because the area downstream is gravelly and has lots...

The Intrepid Piscator: The Voices

http://theintrepidpiscator.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-voices.html

Thursday, 16 July 2015. Do you ever get that feeling? You know the one.that inner voice that whispers, "Go there, you'll catch there". I took the back roads home, tearing round the bends like an inept rally driver.stupid. That's fishing for you, or me anyway. Makes me throw caution to the wind and focus attention on just rivers, fish.and stuff. I reached home in one piece, loaded the car messily, kissed the missus and set off.rapidly. First trot, a lovely 10oz dace to caster. I know that the fish could t...

Tuesday, 23 March 2010. My Top 10 Tips For Catching Specimen Winter Roach. With the bivvy boys moving in fast,my winter Roach fishing is at an end.I will be looking to catch Rudd,Tench and Crucians in the next few months. I feel I have done quite well for the Roach in the past few weeks with. Being the best result.I am definitely no expert,in fact I'm quite a novice Roach fisher. However,I believe these tips will help you to put a fine specimen on the bank. 4) Fish Open Water. 5) Use a Feeder. http://www.speci-angler.co.uk/2014/05/estate-lake-tench-giving-em-some-grubs.html

A Specialist Anglers Diary. The story so far. Tuesday, 27 May 2014. Estate lake tench - giving em some grubs. As that question was asked you'll have gathered that I did indeed break the run of blanks, in fact I had a cracking days sport and ended up with a dozen fish to 6lb 12oz. I started out with one rod on the dura method feeder and dampened pellet but after the fourth bite on the blocked and maggot rig I put the same on both rods and didn't look back. Heron nest on the island. Best fish of a wet day.

A Specialist Anglers Diary. The story so far. Friday, 2 January 2015. Back to the barbel - A tale of three rivers. The Soar in all its glory. One of two 5lb chub in three trips. One thing I have been doing a bit this year is sticking a small bright "sight blob", for want of a better word, on top of the hair rigged boilie. Carp anglers have been doing this for donkeys years so why not barbel? With the fish returned I finally sat down and made another cast. Again it was only a matter of minutes before ...

Friday, 24 April 2015. Monday, 20 April 2015. Escape To The Farm. With over a month gone since I last wet a line I was desperate to get out, so on Saturday I headed to Marsh Farm to see if I could find an early season crucian. James had already been out earlier in the week and found it tough going, and after a cold night I knew I was pushing my luck. I will be back when the weather get a bit better. Friday, 17 April 2015. Photographed from the book as my Mac is totally f* ked! Friday, 10 April 2015.

Thursday, 29 May 2014. Thank you to Laura, for setting up the blog and getting things started. I'm Hayley. My son Edward was born on 3rd February 2014. I'm 35, married to Martin (who I met on Twitter) and have lived in Staines since November 2012. Before that, I lived in London for 12 years. Sunday, 25 May 2014. They fuck you up, your mum and dad.'. How do I prevent it from ruining his childhood, from creating some kind of role reversal where he's looking after me, from messing with our relationship?

This was a frustrating one, needless to say. I took this with my crappy “big big” zoom, a 30-years old Solignor lens. I knew it wouldn’t be sharp and the fringing would be horrible, and wasn’t overly concerned about that. The obvious solution was to bracket and merge the images. I of course didn’t think of doing that at the time. February 1, 2015.
