Wednesday, 24 July 2013. Silchester Roman Town (Calleva Atrebatum). On our way back to Portsmouth we decided to break our journey with a visit to Silchester Roman Town. Situated between Basingstoke and Reading, the site was originally an Iron Age settlement and later a Roman town called Calleva Atrebatum. Wednesday, 26 June 2013. My Mum absolutely rules at gardening - you only have to step out of our back door to see the proof. The garden is such a jolly mix of flowers, shrubs and trees and every week it seems that something new is poking it's head out! These next two are from my Dad's little patch - the poppies are so pretty, and the plant below with the green and pink leaves is very cool. I know.where are the long, purple flowers? Wednesday, 13 November 2013. Iano (and the hot springs that weren't). Our last day in Tuscany (sad face) was set aside as another relaxing, 'no plans' kind of day. My favourite kind! I'm lying (a bit), there was one plan - head back to Montaione and have another mind-blowing gelato. That comes at the end though.
