Fraudster's Musings: January 2014
http://fraudstersmusings.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Writing about anything other than my fraudulent teaching. Sunday, January 19, 2014. Watched a cleansing documentary the other day: The Hoarder Next Door. It's about two people, Roddy and Sarah, whose lives have become unmanageable due to their obsessive hoarding. Their homes were like tip sites, although perhaps not quite as well organised, if our local tip is anything to go by. Even though my household furniture is mismatched, I never upgrade it because everything tells a story - which really slows me d...

Fraudster's Musings: No Day But Today.
http://fraudstersmusings.blogspot.com/2015/07/no-day-but-today.html
Writing about anything other than my fraudulent teaching. Monday, July 6, 2015. No Day But Today. Didn't shower today. Wearing the same clothes I wore yesterday: heavy black oversized hoodie; baggy kneed black track pants and mauve sheepskin 'scuff' slippers. You may be pleased to know I haven't left the house. The weather's not conducive anyway - noisy cold morning rain clearing to gusty miserable. On page 111 of Sometimes Gladness. To take a break from Bruce and to get moving, at least around the house...

Fraudster's Musings: July 2015
http://fraudstersmusings.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Writing about anything other than my fraudulent teaching. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Taking my old mum for a haircut. Doesn't pay to book a haircut, or a podiatry appointment too far ahead for mum. I've turned up to collect her for an appointment a couple of times to find she's made some private arrangement with a visiting provider. No good writing it in mum's diary. She doesn't check it. She didn't mind, she said. She'd had lots of company, as she would have sitting outside the nurses' station in the...

Fraudster's Musings: Dexcom CGM and I.
http://fraudstersmusings.blogspot.com/2014/04/dexcom-cgm-and-i.html
Writing about anything other than my fraudulent teaching. Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Dexcom CGM and I. Ideally I'd change sets when a session expires at 7 days cos the sticking tape starts to lift. However, these mothers cost $80 AUD each, non-refundable on NDSS - National Diabetes Supply Scheme - or medical insurance. (Given how indispensable these sets are, that's a pisser.). Hypo anxiety has also disappeared from my teaching life. I'm now totally focused on what I'm supposed to be doing in class, r...

Fraudster's Musings: June 2013
http://fraudstersmusings.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Writing about anything other than my fraudulent teaching. Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Central France. Day 9. See yourself doing this again next year? Yep,' he said. Me too. It's a great big day. We decided to light out for the territory today. That is, try to find somewhere new and wonderful; easy to do in France. Set up Jane, our navigatrix and allons-y. Off we go. Time for a lunch stop. Found a good relais on a roundabout. They all seem to be good. I love that all these tradies - chantiers? And school kids...

Fraudster's Musings: Klosterneuburg in the rain.
http://fraudstersmusings.blogspot.com/2014/09/klosterneuburg-in-rain.html
Writing about anything other than my fraudulent teaching. Friday, September 12, 2014. Klosterneuburg in the rain. We're on day twelve of a five week tour of Europe and it's raining, hence my feeling inclined to write something about our trip. The rain puts a dampener on everything,' said Al, helpfully. Dampener: to dull or deaden; to depress. Perhaps for Al. Me? What's more, I've got 150ml of Italian 'chardonnay' in a plastic beaker. Would have bought a wine glass, cos they're not provided by McRent ...

Fraudster's Musings: July 2013
http://fraudstersmusings.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Writing about anything other than my fraudulent teaching. Monday, July 22, 2013. Refuge in a bakery. What is it with me and seeking refuge in a bakery full of delicious aromas; sweets and pastries I'd best not eat? If you read back through my posts, skipping the France bit, you'll know that my mum is quite lovely but that I'm having difficulty sharing my house with her and her 'memory loss' - the euphemism for dementia. At my house she can safely go to the supermarket or walk down to the local shops....

Fraudster's Musings: May 2013
http://fraudstersmusings.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Writing about anything other than my fraudulent teaching. Wednesday, May 29, 2013. I try hard not to be annoyed with my elderly mum who's filled my empty nest in a big way. She's not consciously doing anything annoying. When I greet her in the morning she expresses this histrionic joy that I'm in the house. Take her a tea in bed, as Al and I do, and she's overwhelmed with rapture about the best cup of tea ever in this the best of all possible worlds. She'll wail. " I thought everyone had left! I tried no...

Fraudster's Musings: Laid Up.
http://fraudstersmusings.blogspot.com/2015/06/laid-up.html
Writing about anything other than my fraudulent teaching. Wednesday, June 10, 2015. My day off. Haven't had much physical activity lately. Not well enough for cycling and walking. The weather's been conducive to hanging around the house. Most exercise I've had has been sweeping the floors and squeegee-ing the shower in the morning. Last night I went to bed at 8.30 and managed about ten hours occasionally interrupted sleep. Woke up determined to do my five k walk. Do you think you could help me up? Http:/...
