Friday, June 15, 2012. Trip Report - Mount Whitney. Chris and I left Redlands at 6:00pm and headed north towards HI-395 and Lone Pine. We arrived at the Lone Pine Campground a little before 10:00pm. We found an empty site and quickly set up camp (pitched a tent, stowed food in the bear box, and ate a late night snack). We hiked up the trail until we reached the North Fork of Lone Pine Creek. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Trip Report - Checkered Demon. Checkered Demon (Peak 13,121) lies directly south of Mount Humphreys and west of Bishop, CA. The north face of this peak has two steep snow couloirs, the Checkered Demon Couloir (1,400 ft.) and Kindergarten Couloir (800 ft.). Friday, June 29, 2012. Trip Report - North Palisade. After work I drove home, spent some time with Emily and Claire, ate some dinner, and packed the car. I left Redlands a little after 7:00pm and headed north on the famous HI-395. The night was warmer than I expected, and I slept fairly well.
