What made the series stand out so much from other open world games was not just the setting but the fact that the player could scale anything with a protruding angle. That meant that if you could see it in the game and you could see some sort of handhold, you could climb to the top of it. I could go on and on about more games that use freerunning and affordance but there’s quite alot of them out there now!
