Gene Black an Alabama Artist and Quilter: October 2014
http://blog.geneblack.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
My Creative Life - Quilts, Art, Weaving and More. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Sewing my handwoven fabric. This morning was rainy and gloomy. The rain stopped but it is still gloomy here. I decided to brighten up my day. Did I mention that it was chilly this morning? Well, it was and that helped to inspire me. I have never had a poncho" So I took my fabric and started looking at it (and yes fondling it.). I tried one fabric but it didn't seem right to me. Oh yes, I do like that fabric for this idea.

Gene Black an Alabama Artist and Quilter: Quilt Angels
http://blog.geneblack.com/p/quilt-angels.html
My Creative Life - Quilts, Art, Weaving and More. It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this. I found out today that the Ogden House youth facility is being closed. Due to state budget issues and lack of funding the facility will not be able to remain open. At this time the board of directors is desperately seeking funding to allow this much needed service to continue. Although with the poor state budget, it is uncertain at this time. It is preferred that you put a label on the quilt. Whether or...

Gene Black an Alabama Artist and Quilter: March 2015
http://blog.geneblack.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
My Creative Life - Quilts, Art, Weaving and More. Saturday, March 28, 2015. I have been making some wall hangings for a consignment gallery. These are woven with purchased wool yarn as the warp. I used some of my handwoven yarns in the weft of the fabric on these hangings. I also added some embellishments. Starting on the left: The first weaving has polished stones added as embellishments. The second one has beads that I made with polymer clay probably 3 or 4 years ago. I can not reply. Links to this post.

RSC 16: February is the Month of Brown! February 16, 2016. February 16, 2016. February’s color is brown, and normally, I wouldn’t have had anything to work on, but it just so happens that I have two things that qualify, and I already happened to be working on one of them! This quilt is a two block quilt, and I have finally finished all 24 of these guys. I’m still working on the second block. I did put one together to see what they would look like finished. All the Way Back to the Beginning. January 28, 2016. January 26, 2016. Today for my Throwback Thursday post, I’m going) all the way back to almost the very beginning. This was I think the second quilt/wall-hanging that I have made. I was horribly unsure of myself, but in all it didn’t turn out too badly. The quilting is horrid, but the points all came out pretty good. Would I have done it differently now? I’m right back at the beginning working on that mile of crap again. RSC 16, January Blocks Rock!

Throwback Thursday: Tristen’s Song – cathymariequilts
https://cathymariequilts.com/2016/01/22/throwback-thursday-tristens-song
Throwback Thursday: Tristen’s Song. January 22, 2016. I just absolutely loved making this quilt for Tristen (Kael’s oldest brother). Kael was just a tiny guy when it was made as you can see (he’s hiding in the corner). It’s hard for me to believe just how much he has grown since then. Anyway, this was my first quilt as you go, and it went really well. Well enough that my nephew Hunter had to have one just like it a few years later, but I’ll post his another Thursday. Quilt as You Go. On 2016 Finish Along.
