Use the force! NOW! | DowsingChaos

Chaosmagick, world domination and unicorns. Those times, they are changin’. May 21, 2015. In a galaxy, far far away…. When I started to dabble around the occult, there was one major issue that not only got me frustrated like hell, it nearly stopped me from following the path universe so harshly kicked me onto. Every book I read, trying to learn anything practical about magick, kept rambling on and on about the importance of visualization skills. 8211; You want to have an OBE? 8211; Past life regression?

CHARIOT: The Austringer (1969)
https://chariotrpg.blogspot.com/2016/12/the-austringer.html
Thursday, 22 December 2016. One of the only surviving stills from the 1969 BBC play The Austringer. A ghost story, for Christmas. Not a folk horror, so much as about a folk horror. I read it to some friends on the darkest night of this year. I must acknowledge a debt of gratitude to my friend Jon Dear for the technical details in this story; every accuracy is his, every error mine, and so this story is dedicated to him. 8226;••. 8220;I won't want to keep any of it.” She is talking to the boxes. Wednesday, 31 August 2016. Chariot: Actually Running the Thing. 160; (A guest post today by my friend Tim Groth. Tim has been one of Chariots most enthusiastic supporters and cheerleaders and his account of running it was so fascinating that I asked to post it here. With his story of magickal AI and hijacked Atlantean propaganda, I think Tim completely gets the sort of atmosphere I wanted the game to have. And I think his game had heart, and heart is sorely what this sort of pastime needs. Monday, 29 Aug...

CHARIOT: We Don't Go Back #25: Red Shift (1978)
https://chariotrpg.blogspot.com/2017/01/we-dont-go-back-25-red-shift-1978.html
Sunday, 1 January 2017. We Don't Go Back #25: Red Shift (1978). I didn't mean this to happen, but between Christmas holiday parenting, my Other Place of Work (still the best job I ever had), and the pressure to write a ghost story to a deadline. I needed a break from blogging, so I've been pretty quiet, I confess. Also, of the last four subjects in the We Don't Go Back. Project, one was great but honestly pretty tough to write about. One was unpleasant in all the bad ways. And one was just godawful.

Monday, 2 January 2017. We Don't Go Back – Guest Post: The Company of Wolves (1984). A guest post, this time on Angela Carter's The Company of Wolves. It's by Monique Lacoste. Who I've known for maybe 13 years, although the last time we saw each other in person was when she very kindly let me stay at her home, then in Los Angeles, in 2005. Monique has taken her brief much more seriously than I usually do (this is the first film article I've posted that has a proper bibliography! Something different for e...

Monday, 9 January 2017. We Don't Go Back #27: Moondial (1988). I was 12 when Moondial. Aired It was shown on Wednesday evenings, five minutes past five, in February, just before it got dark. It was appointment TV for me, before I even knew what that meant. I saw the first episode because it was what happened to be on, and made sure I didn't miss another. The second time I watched Moondial. And wouldn't stop until they'd seen it. Afterwards, Elder Son was dismissive, but he's nearly a teenager anyway....
