Five Bees in the Triangle: December 2012

Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Tuesdays Unwrapped: Linger On the Sticky Places. This was our craft at MOPS today. A photograph modge-podged on a small block of wood and garnished with a ribbon. Simple, really. Yet so sentimental. An ornament you hang on the tree year after year. I knew this was our craft project, but the tears that threatened to fall when I saw that little block waiting for me were unexpected. Grief is tricky like that. The message of the day at MOPS was to linger. It's the first Christmas ...

Five Bees in the Triangle: March 2012
http://fivebeesinthetriangle.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 31, 2012. Easter Party, Preschool Style. I don't think Eli was really supposed to participate but there was no holding him back. He figured out what this was all about in a matter of seconds. He was so sweet, brought the eggs he found right to Andy. I think he would have stayed there all day, gathering plastic eggs and giving them to the other kids. Back inside, each child calmly sat in a circle and sorted out all of their candy, stickers and toy cars. Five Bees in the Triangle. Bribery&#...

Five Bees in the Triangle: May 2012

Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Andy did not want to touch that fish. I think he maybe put a fingernail on one scale. He was quite proud of himself. The cutest little fisherman I ever did see. He wanted to fish more than he wanted to eat. Making his own fishing pole. He wanted so badly to do what his brothers did. He was mostly content to hang out on the bridge with the bigger boys and throw things in the water. We are blessed to have such a mellow child. Going, going, gone! Five Bees in the Triangle. In all seri...

Five Bees in the Triangle: November 2012

Thursday, November 15, 2012. To Elf Or Not To Elf.That Is the Question. Every year about this time, a certain little fellow appears on the shelves at my Happy Place (hint: there's red. Lots and lots of red). I linger nearby, pretending to peruse the Legos while he watches me from his endcap. To tell you the truth, I find the whole concept a little freaky. An elf that spies and reports back to Santa? I was surfing the internet for any further discussion about the wee little man when I found this. Justice ...

Five Bees in the Triangle: April 2012

Monday, April 30, 2012. These Foreign Creatures Known As Boys. Every afternoon about 4pm the proverbial wheels come off the bus. I know it is the bane of every parent's existence, that maddening thing we call the witching hour. Ours lasts more than an hour. Perhaps my attitude has something to do with the duration of the suffering. Let's revisit my attitude another day, shall we? What was I talking about? Or that his clothes get wet. Still clutching that yellow balloon. Is he not the cutest thing? I stru...

Sunday, November 27, 2011. Because It Isn't Thanksgiving Without a Pool Party.Right? Steve with his dad and brother on deck. Andy loves the water as long as he wears a 'floatie'. Hmmmwhat's this waterfall all about, anyway? I think he was tempted to descend it a time or two but it isn't a slide and broken bones were not in our holiday plans. Yet another boy with his prized collection of torpedo pool toys. Thank you, dear cousins for sharing your pool and your home with us. We had a great time! We have pu...

Five Bees in the Triangle: June 2012
http://fivebeesinthetriangle.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 29, 2012. Sayonara, Second Grade! Luke wrapped up second grade today. Can't believe it. His expression pretty much sums up our week. Much weeping and gnashing of teeth over the separation from the best buddy. Even though we met his new teacher and she is wonderful, we seem to be lacking a little enthusiasm toward this transition since his favorite friend was assigned the other third grade teacher. Good thing we have NINE WHOLE DAYS to get used to the idea. Five Bees in the Triangle. Let's be...

Monday, February 25, 2013. On The Money: Where Do We Go From Here? They trail in my wake, lingering in the toy aisle and launching their incessant requests. This is why I shop alone. Then the eldest calmly asks, "When will I be able to spend my money for myself? I don't know. Maybe when you're eighteen and two weeks from leaving for college, when your father and I are in full-on freak out about all the things we haven't taught you yet? This is not an area where we want to fall short. I don't know about y...

Grammy & Papa Visit | Jonathan & Lindsey

Jonathan and Lindsey's Family Blog. Grammy & Papa Visit. June 23, 2015. Grammy and Papa took a road trip through the western half of the U.S. last month, and they swung by our neck of the woods at the end of May. We had a fun time together! Here are a few pics from our visit. The boys love it when Papa pushes them on the swings. We hiked the Iron Horse Trail through the Snoqualmie Tunnel. Grammy shares some “jelly jeans” with the boys. Then Silas asked to try some of her lipstick!
