The 3 Day Man: November 2010
http://the3dayman.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
The 3 Day Man. Because Real Men Wear Pink. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. After finishing the 2010 Dallas Fort Worth 3-Day without having any foot issues, I've been thinking about doing the 2011 walk using Vibram's FiveFingers. Or as I call them, Hobbit Feet). These shoes are absolutely ridiculous looking, who wouldn't want to know more? How was the journey? Did you bring a pair of sneakers just in case? Did you wear socks? Monday, November 29, 2010. Did the awe factor wear off when the same people that don...

60 Mile Thoughts: 60Mile Daughter Training Notes
http://60milethoughts.blogspot.com/2011/05/60mile-daughter-training-notes.html
Tuesday, May 24, 2011. 60Mile Daughter Training Notes. I'd like to share with you the next installment from my 17 year old 60MileDaughter. ( you can read her first post here. Read on, in her words, and "hear" about her first big training walk. Yesterday I walked out the door with my parents, decked out and ready to spend the day walking. It was all planned out, as my stepfather has warned me – “make sure your mother maps it out beforehand so it really is the length she promises.”. I would like to thank t...

60 Mile Thoughts: Tomorrow We Walk
http://60milethoughts.blogspot.com/2011/08/tomorrow-we-walk.html
Thursday, August 4, 2011. I was so excited when my daughter decided to do this with us. She was only seven years old the first time I walked the 3Day. This event has been part of her life growing up. I was so touched that it had come to mean enough to her from the sidelines that she wanted to jump in. Yes, she can be anxious, but she can also be stubborn and determined. I simply know in my heart that she will do her very best at this thing. One of the survivors I walk for is my special friend, Diane....

60 Mile Thoughts: October 2010
http://60milethoughts.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Every Mug Deserves a Lifetime. Yesterday was a pretty challenging day. A lot of stuff has happened all in one day. It all started in the morning. One of my first thoughts of the day was a sense of super happy excitedness. Why? Because 3DayMug was scheduled to arrive at my office. For those of you not in this particular loop, I'll try to explain. 3DayMug. And her own Twitter account. Okay, so when did my day change? I left my office for a little while. I came back and saw tha...

60 Mile Thoughts: That Time of the Year
http://60milethoughts.blogspot.com/2011/06/that-time-of-year.html
Thursday, June 2, 2011. That Time of the Year. In honor of three friends who are each having their first mammograms in the next few weeks, I am reposting this blog from last June. It remains as significant as it was then. Last week, I went for my annual mammogram. Some of you are too young, or are underinsured, or are too male, to know what this experience can be like. For you, I will try to elaborate. I remembered a woman I met on last year’s Walk, who described an odd look in the technician’...
