Jewels, Joys and Junk. Friday, July 10, 2009. 4th of July Festivities. We headed to a friends house where we cooked out and shot skeet. The kids had a ball eating hot dogs and cheetos and drinking kool-aid. They were FILTHY, but hey- that is part of the fun- right? The older kids had dirt bikes. Some of them took our kids on VERY VERY SLOW rides. Jake was absolutely beside himself! So just pretend I don't look quite so."lovely". Needless to say- we came home, took baths, and crashed! Jewels, Joys and Junk. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. I'm a Pioneer Woman- NOT! So here is the recipe:. 1 bar of unscented soap (I use Ivory as recommended). 1 cup of Washing Soda. 1/2 cup of Borax. I use a grater to grate my soap. Then I add the other ingredients and mix well. It only takes 2 Tablespoons per load (and only 1 for a light load). The other thing I am doing is using a clothesline to dry my clothes. I have become quite the pioneer woman. But- I must keep my A/C though! June 23, 2009 at 11:24 AM.

Mama you truly are the best I could ever have asked for. I know you had a phenomenal mother who led by example. I only hope I can be half the mother you are to me! Jewels, Joys and Junk. Monday, November 24, 2008. Please note- this post is NOT for anyone who is opposed to deer hunting. For everyone else, you should know that I finally got a deer! I shot this 10 point on Saturday, November 22. He has 2 broken tines so you can only see 8! I am SO pumped! The head and horns are already at the taxidermist! We do eat venison for those who are wondering. This year we will be processing our own meat! How about that for living off the land! Tuesday, November 18, 2008.

Jewels, Joys and Junk. Wednesday, June 24, 2009. A Very Cool Find! I got it home and was super excited. It is like a pumice stone. It works better when it is wet. We have those toilets that save water (don't know the official term) so the bowl is not full of water. I got it wet and began to scrub. The stain came right off! I am so excited! Jewels, Joys and Junk. Thursday, June 25, 2009. My mother's dear friend Locke had a surprise birthday party for Mom and one of their friends named Judy. It was BEAUTIFUL! She served Tomato Basil Soup- which was to die for! She also made homemade sangria. She used frozen mango to keep it cold! It looked very pretty! I didn't drink any so I don't know how it tasted! This is my mama- and yes she was double fistin' some sangria! Happy birthday to two very special ladies! Thank you Locke for all you did!
