Matt and Amy Build a House. March 15, 2012 / MildlyCrafty. All the planting* is finished now and the lawn is in. Now we just have to wait for it to grow :). It makes such a difference to the feel of the house. Now I can hear wind rustling through the bamboo and see the light and shadows changing through the day. It’s wonderful! How cute is that old truck! More plants delivered yesterday. Not the real kind of pineapple, just a flower that looks like them). I think this is brown sedge. You are commenting u...

Hard landscaping | The Laburnum Project

https://thelaburnumproject.wordpress.com/2011/09/29/hard-landscaping

Matt and Amy Build a House. September 29, 2011 / MildlyCrafty. The stone retaining wall has been finished and work has started on the hard landscaping. They had an excavator in to remove a lot of clay and now they’re preparing the areas that will be paved with Castlemaine slate and digging foundations for the retaining walls. The privacy screen on the western side has been completed too. This side faces the street and the westerly afternoon sun which would blast through here in summer so we needed so...

Bye bye birch tree | The Laburnum Project

https://thelaburnumproject.wordpress.com/2012/03/27/bye-bye-birch-tree

Matt and Amy Build a House. March 27, 2012 / MildlyCrafty. Bye bye birch tree. The poor birch tree did not survive the building process very well and gave up the ghost early last summer. We had it removed and the stump grubbed out today. It only took them 20 minutes or so, they were amazingly efficient. Check out the lean on the power pole! I didn’t realise it was so bad! I just called the power company and reported it. It would be very bad if it fell on the house! Larr; Garden furniture.

Mildly Crafty: Mmmmm

http://mildlycrafty.com/2013/02/mmmmm.html

I've always liked a bit of craft. Thursday, February 07, 2013. Finn will NOT eat anything you try to feed him on a spoon. So I'm trying to find things he likes to munch on himself. He had a good go at the corn but I'm not sure he was convinced. Broccoli is his favourite so far - and the messiest. Those little tiny flowers get everywhere! Has anyone else tried baby-led weaning? Which is where you give your baby whole foods and let them feed themselves as opposed to giving them puree). Hes very cute :).

Mildly Crafty: 1/11/12 - 1/12/12

http://mildlycrafty.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

I've always liked a bit of craft. Saturday, November 17, 2012. On our way to see Radiohead tonight! Nervous that Finn will need me! Links to this post. Sunday, November 04, 2012. I finally made this quilt for Finn (yeah coming into summer, great timing)! It's really hard to find time to work on things in a block, even though this is really quick to make it took four or five sessions. I used this lap blanket tutorial. Published recently which shows comparison scans of a cared for and a neglected baby.

http://mildlycrafty.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

I've always liked a bit of craft. Sunday, March 31, 2013. Finn baby is growing up. I know he's still a little baby but it feels like he's turning into a little boy right before my eyes. Every day he seems bigger and learns something new! Whenever I see a new mother at the shops I have to tell her that her tiny newborn will be all grown up in no time! I whipped up this hat from yarn leftover from a couple of other baby hats. It's so big that I can actually wear it as a fitted beanie! Links to this post.

Mildly Crafty: Superhero undies

http://mildlycrafty.com/2013/01/superhero-undies.html

I've always liked a bit of craft. Monday, January 21, 2013. So I saw this fabric when I was at Spotlight the other day, I didn't buy it but I couldn't stop thinking about it. So I went back and bought some and made myself these undies. I don't know what it was about this fabric, it's not really me but I couldn't resist it. I feel like a superhero wearing them! I discovered I had a half made pair in cupboard so I finished those off too. Less lairy than the first pair but still pretty bright :).

Sunday, January 15, 2012. First Snow of 2012! And boy oh boy were Levi and Asher excited! It only lasted for a few hours in the morning, and had completely melted off by the time we got home from church. It snowed for a few minutes again this evening, but never really stuck. The forecast is calling for a "big storm".we'll see if that turns out to be a snow storm or just a bunch of rain. Asher with the lower half of Levi's face. Asher giving Levi some direction in life. Snow on my rhododendrons. After sto...

The Laburnum Project | Matt & Amy Build a House

Matt and Amy Build a House. April 18, 2012 / MildlyCrafty. Ready for drying clothes and summer! The last two outside items to finish were done this week. Firstly the clothes line arrived. It’s powder coated the same colour as the wall so it blends in a bit. I’ve tested it out and fits our queen size sheets without having to fold or scrunch them up which is great! The biggest item was the pergola! The delivery guy posed for the photo :). March 27, 2012 / MildlyCrafty. Bye bye birch tree. The poor birch tr...

Thursday, September 5, 2013. Yesterday Jason turned six months old. 184 days. A whole lot of minutes and a whole lot more seconds. As it is always said the days seem like an eternity but months fly by in the blink of an eye. OK, maybe not in a blink of an eye but close. I know we've been through this before with Owen, but it's still awesome to watch Jason progress and learn more and more things. In just the last two months he's done all sorts of new things like:. In general he's reached the typical six m...
