The Wild Cards: May 2015
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 25, 2015. We have been meaning to plant some flowers in our backyard for a long time. Lately with all my purging and projects, I decide there is no time like the present! Mike is the muscle in this operation, so I set him to work. Ben helped collect the dirt, get the plants out of the pots, water them, etc. That meant that only this side of the yard was safe to plant in. So we moved all the plants over here and Mike got busy. There were two rose bushes that wouldn't fit in the one safe side o...

The Wild Cards: June 2015
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Last weekend while Mike was golfing on Father's Day, I thought we'd make him some cards. This was a great plan in theory. But not in practice. Ben did fine, but Liv was, of course, a disaster. But man did she have a good time! I think there was more paint on her arms than her paper. And that paper was loaded. Ben and I were pretty amused. Until I took her up to the shower to hose her down. She was NOT a fan of that. Sunday, June 28, 2015. Finally, I decided to go with the same cha...

The Wild Cards: Purging Progress
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2015/04/purging-progres.html
Saturday, April 4, 2015. At Mom's recommendation, I read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I was already fired up to purge and organize, but reading this book gave me even more focus and determination. So far, I've done socks, undies, tank tops, jeans, short-sleeved shirts, cardigans, and hoodies. The main thing I like about her advice is that she advocates selecting what you keep or toss based on whether an item brings you joy. This sounds silly but is genius! Well, what if I do? I started with DVD...

The Wild Cards: October 2014
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30, 2014. It's pumpkin carving time. Possibly my least favorite holiday-related activity on Earth. Ugh, the mess. Especially with a 1 year old. I try to make the best of it. We took Liv's shirt off since we decided to have her paint her pumpkin. Ben thought this seemed like a good idea, so he took his shirt off too. Then he said we should all do so. Haha. We told him it would be best if Mom and Dad kept their shirts on this year. Tuesday, October 28, 2014. First, I tackled the chair rai...

The Wild Cards: August 2015
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 20, 2015. My Baby Is in Kindergarten. Tuesday was Ben's first day of Kindergarten. Well in advance, we took his supply list to Target and gathered up all his supplies. I was like a kid in a candy shop- I've been waiting for a legitimate reason to shop back to school supplies for years! Though I must say I had a bit of sticker shock at spending over $60 (with coupons and sales! For half-day Kindergarten. Say what? I let Ben choose the pattern. Liv wanted in on the picture taking too, with...

The Wild Cards: January 2015
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. With everything going on lately and Liv's recent issues with biting at school, I pulled up these pictures from the last few weeks to remember what a sweet little thing she is. I'm hoping the biting episodes are short-lived. Because while she is high-energy, she is a sweet girl. Here is what happens when Mom tries to sit down for a few minutes. Even Dee comes running. No rest for the weary. :-). See how I had that tape up to paint the walls navy? Thursday, January 15, 2015.

The Wild Cards: Around the House
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2015/08/around-house.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. I've done a few things around the house lately, so I thought I'd share my progress. First, I jumped on the terrarium band wagon. I like that they are low maintenance and they make use of my overly large collection of glass jars. I got the chairs. First on a super deal at Target. That was months ago. The table. I scoured the web and finally found this lovely bench. Again, I waited for that sale. I have my eye on this one. Made even better when they sent me the wrong chairs and then...

The Wild Cards: Nana and Papa's Pool
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2015/08/nana-and-papas-pool.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Nana and Papa's Pool. We had the rainiest June in the record books, but July has been a little dryer, and we finally got a warm, dry day to visit Nana and Papa and enjoy their pool. After watching Dad dive off the board, Liv thought she'd give it a go. She walked to the edge but chickened out before jumping. She did jump to me from the edge of the pool though. Ben wouldn't go off the diving board either, but he jumped off the side as well. But milk trumps pool. Hmm, I think your d...

The Wild Cards: September 2014
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Livvie at 18 Months. Livvie turned 18 months on September 7. So I'm a little late on this post. She is a busy bee these days, always roaming, checking things out, seeing what Ben is up to. LOVES: Her paci, her dollies, "reading" books, playing peek-a-boo, dancing (I use that term loosely), stacking toys, having "who can scream the loudest" contests with Ben, riding in her stroller, shoes. You say to her. And she does communicate well, just not with words so much.

The Wild Cards: March 2015
http://benthewildcard.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 27, 2015. A Day in the Life. Our last " day in the life. Post was back in July, so I thought I'd do a new version. This was our Tuesday, March 24. One thing is for sure with toddlers, every day is different even when you are doing the same routine. 6:10: Liv joins me in bed for a few minutes of snuggles. Check out that hair. I just love it! Dee is also not a morning person, so Liv's visit also gets her up and moving. She still loves to lick Liv, but Liv can fight back now. I wave goodbye at...
