The Music of Sound: Too Old
http://themusicofsound.blogspot.com/2008/09/too-old.html
The Music of Sound. Listen with your ears. Tuesday, September 2, 2008. OK, anonymous caught me yet again. I wish I knew who that person was, since they seem to have all the facts that I don't. Apparently I rely too heavily on iTunes to find new music. The Eraser was out for a loooong time before it was available on iTunes, hence my confusion. So, what's the music connection of the day? I don't really have any. I spent the weekend camping in Door County, WI. I used to be your friend. Yes, they do work up ...

The Music of Sound: April 2009
http://themusicofsound.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
The Music of Sound. Listen with your ears. Friday, April 3, 2009. So, today I have some moderate excitement about some new stuff and some exuberance over some not-so-new stuff. First up, the new: The Prodigy. Invaders Must Die. This album by Justice. Seems to indicate that they rock as hard as any rock 'n' roll band both on and off stage. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What's it all about? The Music of Sound was once my weekly radio show on WCCX. 1045FM from Carroll College in Waukesha, WI and WDUB.

The Music of Sound: AFI and Thom Yorke
http://themusicofsound.blogspot.com/2008/08/afi-and-thom-yorke.html
The Music of Sound. Listen with your ears. Thursday, August 21, 2008. AFI and Thom Yorke. Two radically different directions to take today. First, the good news: Thom Yorke's solo album The Eraser. The Eraser came out 7/06. Better late than never, I suppose. August 25, 2008 at 4:05 PM. I enjoyed The Eraser, but I think Johnny Greenwood is a big part of why Radiohead is so rockin' all the time, although it's hard to discount the other dudes. August 28, 2008 at 9:45 PM. I'm too old to be hip these days.

The Music of Sound: Radio Blues
http://themusicofsound.blogspot.com/2008/08/radio-blues.html
The Music of Sound. Listen with your ears. Tuesday, August 5, 2008. Ever since moving to the land of never ending drama involving football players with strange, frenchy last names I've been mildly impressed with the quality of the radio stations here. There are at least three stations that don't make me want to cry with their repetitive playlists and poorly concealed editorial allegiances to the corporate powers-that-be, which is three more than most other places I've lived. The Music of Sound: Happy Day
http://themusicofsound.blogspot.com/2009/03/happy-day.html
The Music of Sound. Listen with your ears. Thursday, March 5, 2009. At the risk of sounding like a fanboy sycophant I feel I must shout from the rooftops my joy at the new U2 album No Line on the Horizon. I can't remember the last time I was more enthralled when listening to an album the first time through. Oh, wait, now I remember, it was when Achtung Baby came out! Go buy this album! The Music of Sound: July 2008
http://themusicofsound.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
The Music of Sound. Listen with your ears. Saturday, July 19, 2008. Where Are They Now? Remember that old VH1 show? Its aim was to catch us up on the activities of music stars of yore. I felt like I was in an episode last night. Wisconsin has an incredibly large number of opportunities for live music, not least of which are the county and state fairs. At the county fair last night I got to see both Soul Asylum. Thursday, July 3, 2008. One of the nice things about being in Wisconsin is Summerfest. Reactab...

The Music of Sound: October 2007
http://themusicofsound.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
The Music of Sound. Listen with your ears. Saturday, October 20, 2007. OK, so I have realized a couple of things these last few weeks. 1) Radiohead is possibly the greatest band of my generation. 3) I forgot how cool Pandora is. They have become a bit more commercialized since last I was there. But, hey, everyone's gotta eat. Can't begrudge them some revenue. Speaking of Bjork - I am enthralled by the reactable. I want to build one. Anyone else interested? Friday, October 19, 2007. Distractions - Zero 7.
