When we first moved here, ollie would spend hours exploring the backyard. he'd hike the hills, scour the dirt, chat with the bunnies, tunnel through the bushes- nothing stopped him. moments like this were rare, when he'd take a seat and seem to meditate on his new world. This is ollie on his first day of school. he goes to a really cute montessori school with teachers that seem to adore him. it's close by and he goes 3 days a week for 3 hours. we feel lucky that we found such a good fit! Wednesday, September 23, 2009. This is how ollie spent some of his summer- swimming in his pool. his two favorite loves- walking and water! He was so content just walking back-and-forth in his little star fish. i chose the wrong time to film him though- note to self. Friday, October 30, 2009. Hope your halloween is delicious! Love the candy corn and his crew. Ollie's absolute favorite thing to do right now, is stand in the open fridge or cupboard. if anyone opens either he makes a mad dash to get there before the door closes. he just sits and rearranges things. i don't know what's so interesting about zip lock bags or the mustard bottle, but maybe ollie is aspiring to work at a supermarket. Monday, January 11, 2010. A snippet of our holiday season. Yes, ollie is wearing my socks as gloves). Thursday, January 7, 2010. No matter how hard we try, we cannot persuade ollie that playing with the garbage is disgusting! He loves to just open and close the lid, and recently has started taking things out if it's close to full. we tell him that it's gross, that he should play with his fridge of letters instead, but he remains unconvinced. i'm just waiting for things to start disappearing.

Sunday, November 8, 2009. Sometimes ollie wonders why i keep clicking the camera instead of picking him up, but i think his sad face is just about as cute as his smiling one. Sun, don't leave. Nothing better than enjoying the sun a little longer. it's nice that we've been able to get outside even though it's november! Ollie loves that he still gets to play in the sidewalk cracks, but he doesn't love that i won't let him eat the random mud, rocks, bugs or leaves that he finds there. Soaking up the sun.

Monday, July 5, 2010. We hope everyone had a happy independence day. And we hope it was a little sunnier than ours. we had a pretty gloomy day, but it ended nicely with a fireworks show enjoyed from our balcony. ollie was super excited- i'm not sure if it was the fireworks or just that he got to stay up late, but there was much rejoicing :).
