From Christine's Desk: Temporary Home
http://fromchristinesdesk.blogspot.com/2010/04/temporary-home.html
Sunday, April 4, 2010. Helen Ruth Olson lay on a hospital bed of Libertyville Manor. Her eyes were closed and her bed was reclined in a slightly upright position. Six people that loved her were gathered with heavy hearts and thoughts that this may be the end of a beautiful life. We held her hand, told her how much she meant to us with tear filled eyes. Did she know we were there? We did not know. Could she hear us? Grandmother I love you and miss you! April 5, 2010 at 10:27 PM. View my complete profile.

Navbar-iframe { display: none; }. My notepad for life. Sunday, August 22, 2010. To Love or To Hate. People conceived and brought into life by God don't make a practice of sin. How could they? For this is the original message we heard: We should love each other. We must not be like Cain, who joined the Evil One and then killed his brother. And why did he kill him? This is how we've come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed his life for us. This is why we ought to live sacrificially for...

Tuesday, April 24, 2012. BOOK REVIEW: The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. This novel may not be for everyone. It is indeed no light read and can require a bit of mental focus. UGG! I personally developed my own timeline to keep track of the comings and goings between decades/centuries. BUT, Kate Morton is a masterful storyteller. She weaves you from 19th century to the 21st century with alluring skill, and makes it seem easy! On a scale of 1 - 10: 9.5. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

From Christine's Desk: A New Beginning
http://fromchristinesdesk.blogspot.com/2014/09/a-new-beginning.html
Thursday, September 25, 2014. I have decided to take up writing again, a love I had placed to the side allowing other distractions to drowned out this love. This will be my journal I suppose. A way to express what's going on in my head, heart, and world. The biggest change to my life since I last posted:. I am now a runner! This fact will most assuredly permeate the pages of this blog in the days, months, and years to come. Actually, I really do. This has been my problem, but I shall not obsess. I came t...

Saturday, March 20, 2010. Give Me the Simple Life. Lyrics by: Harry Ruby and Rube Bloom. I don't believe in frettin' and grievin';. Why mess around with strife? I never was cut out to step and strut out;. Give me the simple life. Some find it pleasant dining on pheasant;. Those things roll off my knife. Just serve me tomatoes and mashed potatoes;. Give me the simple life. A cottage small is all I'm after,. Not one that's spacious and wide. A house that rings with joy and laughter. Give me the simple life.

From Christine's Desk: Book Review - Gone with the Wind
http://fromchristinesdesk.blogspot.com/2010/06/book-review-gone-with-wind.html
Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Book Review - Gone with the Wind. I recently conquered all 1,024 pages of Margaret Mitchell's, Gone with the Wind. A book that sold more then 176,000 copies within the first three weeks of it's publication. As a teen and a young adult, if you asked me what my favorite movie was I would have said, Gone with the Wind. However, movies are not what I am writing about, but the love for the movie did inspire me to take on the book. Scarlett O'Hara is the heroine we all love to hate an...
