the Lattins: October 2011

http://www.thelattins.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 17, 2011. It's amazing to begin to glimpse just how much kids learn in these early years. And lots of fun too. I love to be the one to compliment them on a job well done. Those moments are many and they're great! There's also a few less than amazing moments when you try to remember to pray for patience before opening your mouth. But there's also just lots of "real" moments too. Thank you God for each one. Our dear friends, the Nautas. Monday, October 03, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

the Lattins: Thank you

http://www.thelattins.blogspot.com/2011/10/thank-you.html

Monday, October 03, 2011. Just a quick but deeply heartfelt Thank You. To those of you who still stay in touch with us through our blog. I was surprised and touched when so many of you commented on my "homeschooling" entry. Wow, you guys are amazing! Thanks for sharing a bit of your lives with us. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.

the Lattins: That's so Alaska

http://www.thelattins.blogspot.com/2011/11/thats-so-alaska.html

Monday, November 14, 2011. As it is often the case, when I finally sit down at my computer late at night, I don't have many brain cells left firing. And though I wish I could spend time writing about the deep ponderings I have about the journey we're on. I don't seem to find the energy to work it out in words. But for those of you that don't mind the lighter side of life. How many bullets can you fill a small can with? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ethereal template. Template images by A330Pilot.

Spotts Family: June 2010

http://spottsfamily.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Stuff I don't want to forget. The last seven weeks in the USA have flown by. Lots of doctor appointments for Libby and mainly just catching up on sleep and energy lost since Libby's leg became infected in late February. Meanwhile, I noticed Shane hopping on one leg the other day. He's also improved in catching balls that he throws up in the air. Last, he's got a mind like a steel trap and continues to amaze me when he starts singing (or combining) songs that he's heard&#...3 The...

Spotts Family: Life tidbits...

http://spottsfamily.blogspot.com/2011/07/life-tidbits.html

Monday, July 18, 2011. Although we're busy gearing up for a major life change - a new job for me, moving the family almost 8,000 miles (literally), selling/packing, closing utility accounts, and more - life goes on. Everyone (except Libby and the baby) has had colds. The monsoon rains have been welcomed along with cooler temps and less air conditioning (which means a smaller electricity bill)! We hope to have plane tickets in our hands in the next 24 hours. Looks like we'll depart for the USA on the ...

Spotts Family: July 2010

http://spottsfamily.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 24, 2010. Firsts: Fun times, great memories. I need to add some pictures or videos, but here are some great things that have happened despite Libby's tuburculosis and our forced return to the USA:. Shane and Lukas experiencing their first small-town July 4th parade. They loved the horses, anything with sirens, and lots of crazy bicycles. Shane touching snow for the first time with a smile and saying, "It makes a sound! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). FAQ on return to USA. Other friends who blog.

Spotts Family: What makes Bella (and Daddy) a little cranky

http://spottsfamily.blogspot.com/2011/08/what-makes-bella-and-daddy-little.html

Tuesday, August 02, 2011. What makes Bella (and Daddy) a little cranky. Of course, since daddy (and mommy) shares the room, Bella's commentary throughout the night is a bit of a disturbance. I think it's time to give Bella her own room! In other news, a week ago (on Monday), the staff at my main partner organisation/client let our whole family drop by to say goodbye and then had a nice farewell lunch for me. Spotts Family: May 2011

http://spottsfamily.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 16, 2011. Plastic chicken out, back rubs in. In other news, Asha has officially discarded her favorite toy from the last two months: a plastic/toy fried chicken leg. She now prefers climbing up on the couch (a new thing) and 'reading' books. She also coos at her doll. We eat chapati and rice and yogurt." (Chapati is a flat Indian bread.). Bella is entering the last (we hope) of the 'fussy' weeks in normal baby development. Overall, she's eating/sleeping fine and just a bit grumpy for a fe...

Spotts Family: March 2011

http://spottsfamily.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Grandma Crawford has been here just over a month. She is obviously much, much more than a babysitter! Anyway, I've really enjoyed: an anniversary dinner with Libby at the new, funky, five-star The Park hotel on the edge of the lake; an anniversary breakfast at a new Indian restaurant nearby (yes, we celebrated our 7th anniversary twice); going with Libby to her last doctor(s) appointments; and several other outtings. Monday, March 07, 2011. The weather is finally hot. Was n...

Spotts Family: The big change: early to bed...

http://spottsfamily.blogspot.com/2011/06/big-change-early-to-bed.html

Wednesday, June 08, 2011. The big change: early to bed. With all three kids, around the age of 2-3 months they went from a 9-10pm bedtime to a 5-6pm bedtime. And.Bella joined the club sometime over the last week! It's nice because Libby now has a little more free time to exercise or do whatever. It is all survivable. And we're thankful the monsoon is here. And Bella is sleeping early! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). FAQ on return to USA. Our city's current weather. Our US-based parent company.

Spotts Family: February 2011

http://spottsfamily.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 25, 2011. I woke up around 6pm last Thursday with that pleasant, woozy feeling that is produced by wonderful medical chemicals. My knee surgery lasted about 3 hours and they found four problems (including 2 unanticipated) to fix. But at the time, all I knew was three things:. 1 I was cold and couldn't get my voice to work (to summon nurses) or hands (to pull up the blanket). I lay there shivering. 2 I couldn't unclench my jaw. (Perhaps related to being too cold? The boys are a little per...

Spotts Family: April 2010

http://spottsfamily.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 12, 2010. I like to read. In fact, in a good way, I take pride in the fact that I read widely. I read a study once that said the average American (after finishing school) reads less than 2 books a year. But somehow I've gotten myself into a mess. Check it out. On my bedside table:. Parenting with Love and Logic. India's Unending Journey, by Tully. Bakht Singh of India. Complications, by A. Gwande. Nehru, by Tharoor. The First 90 Days, by Watkins. On my desk at work:. Just Courage, by Haugen.

The Lau Family

Sunday, July 5, 2009. Sunset on the 4th. Jon and I went to a friend's house to take in fireworks last night and this is what we saw when we pulled up. Unfortunately when the show started we couldn't see it so we drove down the street real quick to find a view of the show (so no pictures of fireworks. oh well). Posted by David and Noelle. Over 2 months ago.). Jon is four now and we just never got around to putting pictures from his birthday online. The adults had hats too. Here it is in all its glory.
