Monday, March 23, 2015. Last week we celebrated St. Patty's Day. On our reading groups we discovered just how fun "sticky hands" can be. Here we are using them, as I would say, "find the word " in your books. Then, we focused on sight word shamrocks mixed in with some St. Patrick's Day words. In one group, the book they were reading focused on opposites, so we made opposite pairs:. Meanwhile, some other kids in a center were working on Shamrock digraphs. Here are some of the pictures:. We also have been ...

Monday, December 2, 2013. Holiday Differentiated Writing Activities. I can't believe I actually found some time this Thanksgiving break to make two writing activities for my first graders! I like to make writing as hands-on and interactive as possible. I was not much of a writer when I was growing up so I want to make it as interesting for my students as possible. The Learning Tree Nursery School. The Learning Tree Nursery School. How does a child grow? Surely not by birthdays alone. A child grows constantly - nourished by love and affection - in joy and in pain - by touch, a word, a disappointment, a triumph - with exercise to develop the body - with questions and answers for the mind - with love for the spirit. This is what The Learning Tree is all about - children growing into self-confident, well-rounded, happy people. Awards: Home Based Award 2010.

The Learning Tree
Let's be honest. As teachers, there's not enough time in the day to get your to-do list done let alone keep a super tidy room with kids running around. But if you're like me, clutter equals stress. Often, other teachers will walk into my classroom and comment on my organization and I get the same question: "How do you keep it all so organized? Here's a peak into my crazy brain. It's what I tell anyone that asks.
