living life Barefoot: November 2010

I forgot to post about him turning 8 months! Of course, it was during the Thanksgiving holiday. Is that a good reason? He still says "mama" and now has little baby talk conversations, even changing his tone and volume within his little speeches. He preaches now too. He starts off babbling real soft then get real chesty and loud. It doesn't sound angry, just.preachy. And when we laugh, he just looks up and smiles, like "what? I can't believe he's growing up so fast. No, my best friend, Hope! Current count...

living life Barefoot: April 2011

So our baby is a year old now. (and a few days since I'm late posting this). Isn't he cute? He eats everything- sandwiches, spaghetti, cereal, pancakes, ham, chicken, steak (just kidding), eggs, soup, anything and everything. He loves his whole milk and likes the Adam and Eve juice we got him, which is 1 serving of fruit and vegetable in one juice box. He went to his first buffet last night. That was fun, until daddy gave him a Jell-O square. Did you know Jell-O stains skin and clothes? A Glimpse of Hope.

Contemplations of Creative License: December 2007

Contemplations of Creative License. Monday, December 17, 2007. The Galley Slaves' "Truth". What boggles my mind is how a culture of the higher minded ideals, such as the West, with Enlightenment principles of reason, Modern principles of experience, and post-Modern principles of “to hell with it all” cynicism can be so ridiculously obtuse in its pursuit of Truth. By cultural observation, I seek to elucidate the hilarious drama which goes on under our noses without the slightest laugh or snicker. When tha...

Contemplations of Creative License: Difficult People
http://jasonthetheologue.blogspot.com/2010/08/difficult-people.html
Contemplations of Creative License. Thursday, August 19, 2010. Am I so blind myself, that I cannot see my own vice? How is it that just when I am feeling comfortable that I am on strong grounds to criticize, I am yanked back, as if by a collar around my neck? Why must the ethic of interpersonal relations devolve into an endless cascade of parenetic "What are you going to do about it? S" When do I get the satisfaction of vindication without the obligation to change myself?

Steps on the Journey: September 2006
http://theeagleswing.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Steps on the Journey. Saturday, September 09, 2006. What is wrong with this picture? I am sitting in my dorm room by myself. College Football is on the TV in the other room and I am not there. It is Saturday in the fall and I am not at a tailgate. Georgia Southern kicks off their first game of the season today and I am not there. So I ask, what is wrong with this picture? I still have on my blue though. Even if I can't see the Eagles, they will be piped through my computer speakers. Chewing Up The Experi...

Steps on the Journey. Monday, July 03, 2006. Well, I'll Let It Slide This Time". What up my brothers. For those of you that were not aware, the last month has been a difficult one. I know what you are thinking, and yes, it was bad. Apparently, Homestar Runner decided to sleep through June and all his friends and co-horts went on vacation. I guess the guys and gals deserved some time off, but a whole month? So, who was suppose to bring the donuts? Posted by John at 10:11 AM. View my complete profile.

From The Cheap Seats: April 2006

From The Cheap Seats. Thursday, April 20, 2006. In My Life Be Lifted High". I'm a fan of Hillsong United! They are a band out of the land down under and they are just rocking my face off lately. One of their songs is called "Came to the Rescue" and in this song it talks about how in the writer's desperation they called out to God and he came to the rescue. In this song though there is a response to the Chorus. The words are:. In my life be lifted high. In my world be lifted high. Monday, April 17, 2006.
