Attn: Smith Family Support. Knoxville, TN 37950-3363. Thursday, January 19, 2006. We’ve finally arrived in Peru! My dad took us to the airport and Dixie Ball came also to say goodbye. Abigail was very excited to fly on her first flight. Some of you were praying for Adeline’s ear ache. She travelled beautifully. The flight from Dallas to Lima was a long seven hours. I would have kissed the Peruvian soil if I was not so worried about parasites. We've been staying with the Baker family. 2) We now have our v...

Attn: Smith Family Support. Knoxville, TN 37950-3363. Thursday, December 29, 2005. Streams in the Desert. One of my greatest fears as we move to Peru is not the difficulty of transporting my entire family and worldly goods to another country. It is arriving in the desert of Peru a spiritual desert myself. I have found a friend from the 18th century who has offered much spiritual encouragement during this transition. His name is Andrew Bonar. And always to give it the earliest place in my employments".
