The Librarian Identity

Thursday, 4 April 2013. My first conference presentation. From the LILAC 2013 programme. As a delegate twice, I thought it was time to attend as a presenter. Luckily, this year I'd been involved with a Jisc project. And crossed our fingers. We were delighted to receive the email saying that it had been accepted. Our presentation and some photos from the session (thanks to our Chair Steve McIndoe) are below. Project DigitISE - LILAC 2013. From University of Westminster Technology Enhanced Learning. The fi...

The Librarian Identity: November 2012

http://www.thelibrarianidentity.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, 17 November 2012. Exploring Ancient Egypt (in Oxford). This post relates to an excellent visit to Oxford last Saturday (10 November), organised by the Egypt Exploration Society. EES) It was an early start and a full day but I met many interesting people and got to indulge my passion for Egyptology. The first stop on my group's itinerary was the Pitt Rivers Museum. After the wonderful chaos of Pitt Rivers, we then visited the more ordered Ashmolean Museum. Which only opened about a year ago.

The Librarian Identity: November 2010

Monday, 22 November 2010. Thing #5 - Creative Commons. After a bit of a break whilst first semester busyness took over, 23 Things is back! Thing 6 is to add a Creative Commons license to our blogs, so you will now find details of this at the bottom of the page. I wasn't sure which to go for but in the end I went for the more restrictive one. I may reconsider this at some later point in time. Generally, I think the Creative Commons is very useful. Friday, 27 May 2011. It is with some sadness that I write this post. My former employer CILT, the National Centre for Languages. In April. Many of CILT's activities have been transferred to CfBT. I was pleased to hear that the CILT Resources Library has been bought by the Association of Language Learning and the University of Cambridge Language Centre. They have taken the research collection and are asking for donations to help secure its long term future. Before work today (very early start! Thing 13 is...

Roaming the world's libraries in search of adventure. Cambridge Libraries Conference 2017. January 6, 2017. Yesterday, I spent the day over at the Engineering Faculty enjoying the excellent keynote speeches, panel presentations, and lightning talks, as well as meeting up with colleagues from within Cambridge libraries and from further afield, at the annual Cambridge Libraries Conference. This year’s theme was Library Superheroes, and as you can see, involved a pretty packed programme. What have I done?
